What kind of coconut milk are you drinking? Is it canned or do you make it

yourself? If canned can you buy it at grocery store or do you get it

online??

Re: Help with Hypoglycemia???

I was diagnosed a diabetic 2 years ago with a fasting blood

glucose level of over 360. Initially I took prescription drugs

(which I hated! -- because of the nasty side effects). After some

research I discovered that the recommended ADA diet had way too many

carbos for health. Now I am controlling blood glucose levels

(usually between 105-120 these days for fasting glucose levels --

anything under 127 is considered ok for diabetics) thru diet &

supplementation alone. I stay away from grains except for bread

once a week. No sugar, no msg, very little bottled sauces, no canned

goods or prepared meals in a box. All food cooked fresh. No pasta,

beans, or other starchy veggies. I eat a potato less than once a

month. I eat fruit in moderation, plenty of leafy greens, meat &

animal fats (butter, fat on meat), fish. I make a smoothie every

day with plenty of fiber in with the fruit. Dairy is organic.

Meat is pesticide free & hormone free (I cannot find organic meats).

I supplement with alpha lipoic acid, ginseng, gourdin (a sub-lingual

form of bitter melon), vitamin C to bowel tolerance, niacinamide, as

well as all the other vitamins and supplements I am taking for other

reasons. My last meal of the day is a can of coconut milk or some

coconut oil mixed with ground nuts. It provides calories but little

carbohydrates. The coconut milk has lowered my fasting blood

glucose levels about 10-15 points. Lots of fiber is crucial when

eating fruit to moderate the glucose spike.
