Speed Up Your Metabolism

by Victoria

If you are following Living Well, you know using certain

oils can speed up your metabolism. Well, eating certain

foods together can also do the same thing.

According to Dr. Raymond Peat, "Small frequent feedings,

each combining some carbohydrate and some protein, such as fruit and cheese, often help to keep the metabolic rate higher."

This combining follows the Dr. Hay principles. I have

tried eating some pineapple and raw cheese, and it

digested fine. Acid fruits do combine well with protein.

But when I tried eating an apple and cheese, I got a bad stomach ache.

If you eat cheese and fruit together, eat a small amount

of organic raw cheese (no more than 1-2 ounces) and make

sure to eat an acid fruit and not a sweet fruit with

protein. A list of acid fruits can be found at http://chetday.com/hbprogram.html

“If you are discouraged it is a sign of pride, because it shows you trust in your own powers. Never bother about other people's opinions. Be humble and you will never be disturbed. Remember St. Aloysius, who said he would continue to play billiards even if he knew he was going to die. Do you play well? Sleep well? Eat well? These are duties. Nothing is small for God.”
