Guest guest
Hi. First, let me say that I'm glad to be here I try to keep things natural in my life and the life of my family, but sometimes I feel that my knowledge is very inadequate to the task. Below, please find my welcome survey. Thanks! Krystall What time do you get up? *I try to get up by 6am so I have time to do Yoga, get a shower, and get started on my day before everyone else is up. Sadly, I am not always able to get up that early. Lately I've had a LOT of stress going on, so I've been pretty sleepy and a bit under the weather. Got moving this morning, though, so hopefully I can keep on track! What is your favorite recipe? *Not sure. I have always had a weakness for Corn Cakes, but I'm pretty sure they aren't very healthy...if I like them, they must be bad What was the last film you saw at the cinema? *I took the kids to see Cheaper by the Dozen 2. It was really cute. Who is your favorite TV chef? *Not sure I have one. I do watch some of the tv cooking shows a little, though. My husband is VERY into cooking, so he loves to watch that sort of thing. What do you have for breakfast? *We have a Vitamixer now, so I try to have a fruit and veggie drink in the mornings with something light...like sn organic peanut butter sandwich. Today, though, I needed something quick, so I wound up with cereal, which I usually regret having as it makes me feel blah for the morning. What/who inspires you? *Nature...the deep peace of a meadow or forest is just wonderful. Also the ocean speaks to me in an extremely meaningful way...I could sit and stare at it for hours and not worry about the time passing. My kids also inspire me. They just make me happy and their presence urges me to do my best. What is your middle name? *Lea Beach, City or Country? *I've lived a block from the beach. It was great to be able to go and sit and stare into the ocean whenever I wanted, but I hated the crowded lots...looking out my window into the neighbor's bathroom is not my idea of good. So, I guess I'd have to say country. Homemade ice cream or store bought? *Homemade Favorite ice cream? *Banana with chocolate chunks Favorite color? *Green and Purple...I love them equally, so I can't choose one over the other. If I can only choose one for something, I usually alternate (last time I chose purple, so green this time or whatever), or I just go with my instinct at the time. But I've never noticed that I choose one more than the other. What kind of car do you drive? *Mini Van (Town & Country) I'm used to it now, but it's not my first choice of vehicle. Still, with kids, it's the best because it's roomy and it has a DVD player for long trips. Favorite sandwich? *That's a tough one. I recently had something called a Cuban which I found very good. But I also very much like steak, tomato, and lettuce. Meunster cheese is my most fave chesse and I usually like it with either ham or turkey. I've also had a completely fabulous wrap with veggies. My choice pretty much cycles through these. I will generally be in the mood for one of them if I have to choose a sandwich. Favorite “crafty†thing you like to do: *I write. I craft stories and worlds and people and ...just everything. I created a persona and backstory for a holiday that my family celebrates...mostly for the benefit of my littlest one, for whom the magic in every day life is still viable and vivid. But, I very much enjoy that magic too, so it was also partly for myself So, I write. It's what I love and what I'm good at. I have a few craft type activities that I'd like to pick up, but I haven't gotten good at any yet and I don't do any regularly. I used to know how to crochet and latch hook but my car was rear-ended by another one about 10 years ago and I have had trouble with doing small motor things since then. My fingers get numb and all pins and needle-y. So I don't do much of that sort of thing. Favorite flower? *I love flowers...I suppose my faves are the Iris and the Calla Lilly (although I also have a thing for most colors of roses...but I'll stick with the first two as faves). Any Hobbies? *I'm interested in a lot of things. I love to learn and that's what I do a lot of the time. I suppose collecting books and knowledge is something of a hobby. I also collect names and interesting personality quirks and things such as that. Partly that's from being a writer, I guess. Oh. I also play an online RPG game with my husband. I guess you could say RPG playing is my hobby. RPG = Role Playing Game for all you non-RPGers. Do you have children? *Yes. I have two living children. Both are daughters, 15 and 8...althought they each have a birthday coming up If you could go anywhere in the world on vacation, where would you go? *Many places. I guess my first choice would be Greece, though. If I could only go one place, then I'd probably have to pick that. It's one of the countries of my heritage and I've heard the Mediterannean is beautiful. Also, it's probably one of the warmer choices and I'm not a lover of cold temps. What color is your bathroom? *We are still in the rental (we recently moved from NJ to Florida), and I can't actually remember what color it is at the moment. If I had a choice, though, I'd go with a light green hue or possibly blues and greens for a water theme. I've been planning a decorating theme around the elements and it'd be silly to put any other element in the bathroom...although I guess I could try Air. Favorite thing to shop for: *Don't have one. I loathe shopping...okay...maybe that's not completely true. If I don't have to lug kids along, or we're having a relaxing day where I'm not rushed or on a budget or something, then I don't mind it. And I have to admit that shopping for gifts for my kids is a joy. I really love to see their faces when they open gifts...esp the little one. She exclaims over a plain brown box with the same enthusiasm as the most intricate gift. Where would you retire? *Some place warm and maybe near the ocean...as long as it wasn't houses on top of one another. Favorite day of the week? *Friday...maybe it's not original but it's one of the only days I don't have to tutor right now So I can plan something or not and it doesn't matter. I much prefer to have my days as flexible as possible. What did you do for your last birthday? *Hung out at home. There wasn't anything I especially wanted to do. Where do you live? *The Tampa Bay area of Florida, USA Favorite sport to watch: *Don't have one. If I'm going to mess with sports, I'd rather play them. I do enjoy watching my children in whatever sporty thing they might be doing, though. What fabric detergent do you use? *Mela Power (I'm trying to keep phosphates and stuff out of the house) Coke or Pepsi? *Ick...neither. Are you a morning person or a night owl? *Sort of both. I don't generally sleep in long unless I'm sick and I tend to stay up way later than I usually plan to. I just don't get tired early. Do you have any pets? *Currently, we have one dog. He's a Min Pin and his name is Cerebus. We had a snake but--long story out--it contracted pneumonia. We gave it shots and thought it was getting better, but it went into a hybernation like mode and just never got up. We've also had other pets (lizards, fish, etc), which sadly didn't survive. Once we get our own house again, we hope to have more pets...we are pet people ~`~`~ I love deadlines. Guest guest
Hi, Nerys. Thanks for your response. I had to laugh at your remark about dreaded deadlines. I make fun of them myself but, surprisingly, I tend to do so much better under a deadline. It helps keep my perfectionism at bay! LOL. But, it's great to meet another writer. I do some non-fiction as well, but I've been moving more towards fiction lately as I've left so many ideas burning holes in my brain for too long. I have to get them out of there and onto the paper before I have less substance than the holes in swiss cheese Have a great day. Krystall ~`~`~ I love deadlines.
