Hi Debra,

I'm new to this list and very much appreciative of the excellent information

and generous advice give here.

About eyebrows: I still color my hair but have switched to a safe herbal

formula - HERBATINT- which I can find at most health food stores. I also

color my brows but don't use the hair color, I use a brown eyebrow pencil to

fill in and then a brown mascara wand to color and give shape to the brow.

Wipe most of the mascara on the wand off on a tissue and lightly go over the

brow brushing in the direction of the hair growth.

I use a very soft lead pencil to color my eyebrows, just softly enough

to stroke the hair, not get on the skin so it can be easily absorbed. Better

than hair color I think.

Eyebrowsby VictoriaFollow these tips for quick and painless plucking.1. Pluck right after the shower. Your pores will be openand it will be less painful.2. With the index and middle fingers of your left hand,

hold your eyebrow slightly taut by the hairline. With thetweezer, pull the hair gently back in the direction itgrows, then up and out.3. Trim very long eyebrow hairs with small scissors butbe careful not to pluck out the long hairs as it could

leave a gap in your brow. If you accidently pluck out along hair and have a gap, use a dab of eye shadow a shadelighter than your eyebrow color to fill in the hole. Youcan use a cotton swab or sponge tip applicator and get a

natural look.4. Use an old toothbrush to comb your brows into place. You can also spray some hairspray on the toothbrush anduse that to brush them. It will keep coarse eyebrows inplace all day.

5. Don't overemphasize eyebrows when you are older. Itlooked good on Brooke Shields when she was 14, but whenyou are older, it can be harsh and hardlooking. Don't outline your brows with a pencil making them look painted on.

That will only date you and make you look 10 years olderthan you are. Fill in little gaps with a pencil or eyeshadow and use soft, feather like strokes. If you overdothe pencil or shadow, brush the brows again with a

toothbrush or eyebrow brush and it will soften them up.You can also use a little face powder on the brows tolighten them up if they look too dark after filling themin.-- Diana Gonzalez
