Look for pure and additive-free base and essential oils in specialty gift, bath and cosmetic shops. For a decorative touch, pour the oil into a glass bottle and add a few sprigs of dried flowers. You'll be proud to display your handiwork on a bathroom counter or shelf. Body Tonics Since ancient times, man has revered the therapeutic properties of plant extracts and incorporated them into oils for the bath and massage. You can maintain the ritual and rejuvenate your body with oils spiked with scents from this classic array: Aching muscles: eucalyptus, lavender or rosemary Antiseptic: peppermint, tea tree or juniper Refreshing: citrus, pine or spearmint Relaxing: chamomile, cypress or sandalwood Soothing: aloe vera, catnip, rose or ylang-ylang Stimulating: bay, jasmine, patchouli or rosewood Uplifting: bergamot, geranium or lemongrass Bath Oil How-To's FOR THE BATH OIL 1 (10-ounce) glass bottle with cork about 8 ounces base oil such as almond, avocado, sunflower or soybean essential oil- fragrance such as floral (rose, lilac, jasmine), herbal (mint, rosemary, sage), citrus (lemon, lime, orange), spice (allspice, clove, vanilla), woodsy (cedar, pine, sandalwood) and exotic (patchouli, frankincense, myrrh) Using a glass pitcher or measuring cup, carefully fill the bottle 3/4 full with base oil. Add essential oil, one drop at a time. (For a 10-ounce bottle, use between 5 and 10 drops, depending on the desired strength.) Cork the bottle securely. CREATIVE TOUCHES Wrap the bottle of oil with satin cord and hot glue a star fish to the cord at the top of the bottle. Tie a pastel ribbon around bottle neck. Use a wax stamp to attach ribbon to the bottle. Cover the cork with a swatch of floral fabric and secure with fabric ribbon. Add dried flowers to match the scent, if desired, to the bottle before adding the oil, pushing the flowers down into the bottle with a wooden skewer. Attach a gift tag or label on a string around the neck of the bottle. It's better than gluing a label on the bottle-the oil can stain the paper or make the ink run. http://www.cookingvillage.com/cooking/index.html/1,1543,us,00.html?intObject "A clean house is a sign of a misspent life" -- Version: 7.1.371 / Virus Database: 267.14.12/220 - Release 1/3/2006

Guest guest
Angel, you can buy tincture of Benzoin at most heath food store, its a natural preservative, rose water can also be bought or you can make if you can get rose absolute (very expensive) and put a few drops in spring water.
