BATHROOMS

Bugs love bathrooms. Fungus growths and bugs love shower recesses. Many diseases (such as tinea) can be transmitted from person to person through the warm, moist bacteria- and fungus- laden floors of the shower recess. No matter how often the shower is cleaned it can harbour these undesirable bugs unless the appropriate cleaning methods are used.

Bathroom Oil Blend

11/2 teaspoons lemon essential oil

1 teaspoon bergamot essential oil

1 teaspoon pine essential oil

1/2 teaspoon citronella essential oil

1/2 teaspoon thyme essential oil

1/2 teaspoon tea tree essential oil

Mix the oils together in a 25 ml dropper bottle and shake well to blend. If possible, leave for 4 days to synergise.

The Bathroom Oil Blend contains both antibacterial and antifungal oils. Keep the cleaning materials in the bathroom and encourage the family to spray the shower and the air before leaving the room.

Bathroom Cleaner

4 tablespoons bicarbonate of soda

2 litres hot water

1 tablespoon vinegar

3 teaspoons Bathroom Oil Blend

1 tablespoon cloudy ammonia

Mix together the bicarbonate of soda and hot water. Allow to cool. Mix together the vinegar and Bathroom Oil Blend. Allow the oils to dissolve. Mix all together with the ammonia. Mix very well. Bottle. Decant some of the mixture into a spray bottle or pour directly onto a cloth. Shake mixture well before use.

Bathroom Cleaner is basically the same as All-Purpose Disinfectant Cleaner but contains different oils. It works wonderfully in the bathroom. It cleans wall and floor tiles, baths, showers, wash basins and their surrounds. If extra cleaning power is needed on stubborn stains use bicarbonate of soda as an abrasive in conjunction with the spray.

TROUBLE SPOTS

Bath and Washbasin Spray with bathroom cleaner, leave for a minute or two before wiping.

Vanity Surfaces Spray with bathroom cleaner, leave for a minute or two before wiping.

Shower To disinfect the shower, add 1 teaspoon Bathroom Oil Blend to 100 ml vinegar. Pour into a 300 to 400 ml spray. Add 1 tablespoon water. Shake to mix. Spray shower after use. Use Bathroom Cleaner as often as needed.

Floors and Tiles Wash floors and tiles weekly with 2 teaspoons All-purpose Disinfectant Cleaner in 1 litre warm water.

Air Spray Add 50 drops Bathroom Oil Blend to 2 tablespoons vinegar. Pour into a 300 to 400 ml spray bottle. Add 1 cup water. Shake well before use.
