Guest guest
Winter Activities With The Kiddies This is also from Quick Cooking Magazine 2002WHEN blustery winter conditions keep your little ones inside, ask them to join you in the kitchen for some old-fashioned homemade fun. Consider these inviting activities: Make nifty necklaces with string and dry wagon wheel or tube pasta. Or use laces of licorice and doughnut-shaped cereal to create colorful bracelets or fun Hawaiian leis.Sugar cookies are easy to prepare with packaged dough. Bake a batch and ask your tots to decorate them. Or, cut a pan of frosted brownies into bars and let kids top them with candies, chocolate chips or sprinkles. Have the children color pictures on large sheets of blank paper to use as personalized place mats at mealtime.Work together to plan a silly supper menu where the meal is served backward. Start with a favorite dessert, then enjoy an easy-to-assemble entree followed by an appealing appetizer. Cook up some hot dogs and baked beans. Then start a fire in the fireplace and get out the sleeping bags. Turn down the lights, sing campfire songs and settle in for a cozy evening together.
