Guest guest Posted November 30, 2005 Report Share Posted November 30, 2005 Simple Holiday BreakfastDo everything the day before for a simple Breakfast even you willenjoy!Make juice and get the coffee pot ready to go the evening before.Have the table set, too. Do everything possible the night before. Make breakfast casserole and put in refrigerator until morning.Have bread for toaster, muffins to warm, or rolls to pop in theoven. In the morning turn on the coffee pot, bake the breakfastcasserole and/or rolls. Simple Crockpot Coffeecake 1 can (20 oz) apple pie filling,1/2 t cinnamon, 3 T brown sugar,Nuts – optional,Batter Ingredients: 1 yellow cake box mix, 2 eggs, beaten, 1/2 csour cream, 3 T softened butter or margarine, 1/2 c evaporated milk,1 t vanilla, 1/2 t cinnamonCombine first three ingredients (and nuts if using) in a small bowl.Combine batter ingredients; mix well.Grease or spray the inside of a 4 qt slow cooker. Spread about half the apple mixture in the bottom of the pot.Spoon 1/2 the batter over the apple mixture. Spoon the remainingapple mixture over the batter, then cover with remaining batter.Cover and cook on high for 2 to 2 1/2 hours. Turn heat off, leave cover ajar slightly, and cool for about 15 minutes. Invert on aplate and serve. To make this really simple, plug into a timer, andset to be ready in the morning!Simple Breakfast Casserole1 1/2 lbs. hot sausage, cooked and drained 3 cups milk3 cups shredded sharp Cheddar cheese9 eggs, well beaten3 slices white bread, crumbled1/2 Tsp dry mustardCombine all ingredients in a greased 9x13 casserole dish. Refrigeratefor 3 hours up to overnight. Cook in a 325 degree oven for 1 hour.
