They also like rocky and sandy for good drainage. Lavender grows on the coast in some cases on craggy hillsides. Jackie

Guest guest
Hello Jan, where does one find oyster shell for the lavender plants? Carol in NJ
Guest guest
Thanks - just might do that. You'll see lavender on old homesites/closed down stores and roadsides just growing like mad!! I think I must've watered too much. Guest guest
Carol, I bought oyster shell at the feed store. You could use agricultural lime also. You have to be more exacting with lime. IT does raise the ph of the soil much quicker. Do spread oyster shell under the lavender plants if you are in zone 5. The reflected sun keeps the plants warmer. Anyone who can shed some light on this, please jump in >and feed me with info! :-) well.. it started out as natural lavender. and then they add more linalol or whatever... and what they add COULD be natural...but is much more apt to be synthetic. even so... even if it is totally natural...they used to pull linalol out of rosewood, and I think still do out of ho wood... .. it's STILL not natural lavender... it's " adjusted " lavender. Guest guest
I have a bottle of YL Lavender, I also have a bottle I purchased from Anatolian Treasures(Butch). I tried to test them by smell but in all honesty, they smell the same to me; in a blind test, I would not know the difference... maybe my smeller quit working or maybe there actually is little or no difference as far as aroma goes? The label on YL lavender says it is: Lavandula angustifollia Linalol CT .. ´¨¨)) -:¦:- ¸.·´ .·´¨¨)) ((¸¸.·´ ..·´ Vaneta -:¦:- -:¦:- ((¸¸.·´*
Guest guest
That's interesting. Wouldn't it be nice if I could switch this woman from YL to Butch's great products? But Butch, could you stand having your lavender smell like YL's? LOL ;-) Christina --- Vaneta <vanetarae wrote: > I have a bottle of YL Lavender, I also have a bottle > I purchased from > Anatolian Treasures(Butch). > I tried to test them by smell but in all honesty, > they smell the same to me; > in a blind test, I would not know the difference... > maybe my smeller quit > working or maybe there actually is little or no > difference as far as aroma > goes? > > > The label on YL lavender says it is: Lavandula > angustifollia Linalol CT > > > . ´¨¨)) -:¦:- > ¸.·´ .·´¨¨)) > ((¸¸.·´ ..·´ Vaneta -:¦:- > -:¦:- ((¸¸.·´* > > > > >
