Kid's Turkey CraftsBy Brenda Hyde How many ways can you make a turkey? Let us count the ways! These are simple crafts made with inexpensive materials, but the kids will love them...and I'm sure once you start crafting turkey you'll think of your own ideas, as will the kids.

Spice and Seed TurkeyTrace a turkey onto foam board, cardboard or some other stiff paper. Using craft glue such as Elmer's smear areas of the turkey, one at a time, and sprinkle different ground or seeds of spices such as nutmeg, cinnamon, cloves, or anise to make a design on the turkey-cover completely. Hang as is, or spray lightly with a craft sealant.

Collage TurkeyGive each child a piece of construction paper with a turkey drawn on it, or let them draw their own. Tear bits of colored paper, tissue paper or tissue, left over gift wrap-anything colorful. Tear in small pieces about an inch in size-they should be rough, and not exact. Have the kids glue the pieces on their turkey in any way they wish until it's covered!

Nature Treasure TurkeyYou'll need a 12x12 piece of cardboard or other very heavy paper, glue, a small white paper plate, and your "nature treasures". Gather leaves, seed pods, bark, and any other dried material from your yard, the woods or a park. You can add dried corn and beans as well. You want as many different textures and colors as you can find. Lay them all out on a surface where you can lay your paper flat as well. glue the paper plate about 3-4 four inches from the bottom of your paper-centering it. Paint the plate brown or orange and let it dry. Use your nature finds to create the body (the plate), face and tail for the turkey. This is such a neat project. You can frame it in an old frame or hang as is, spraying with a clear sealer if you wish.
