Aromatherapy Recipes for ColdsMany of us are suffering more often from that age-old malady, the common cold. Colds are virus-caused illnesses that affect the respiratory system, nasal passages and throat and they are not effectively treated with antibiotics. Naturopathic physicians regard the common cold as the body's attempt to cleanse impurities especially since colds no longer limit their appearance to a specific season. The source of those impurities can range from pollution to improper diet. And the effects can be magnified by something we all experience to one degree or another... stress. Unfortunately the stress levels that each of us experiences daily seems to be growing in volume.

Aromatherapist, Michele Renaud, has provided us with these essential oil recipes that will help encourage the harmony and balance of the mind, body and spirit. If you have any questions or suffer from a serious illness, be certain to consult with your health care provider prior to using any essential oils. Here are three recipes to help relieve the stress and ease the cold.

Breathe in through your nose, absorbing the energy from the oils and exhale through the mouth releasing all of the impurities.

Nothing wastes more energy than worrying - the longer a problem is carried, the heavier it gets. Don't take things too seriously - live a life of serenity, not a life of regrets. -Unknown
