Guest guest
John Tilden Week, Part 3 Tilden Suggestions for Food Combinations, Part 2 by Chet Day Dr. John Tilden was a late 19th century and early 20th century medical doctor who turned to Natural Hygiene to help his patients recover from a wide variety of diseases. Today we'll look at the last five of Dr. Tilden's suggestions for food combinations... 6. Finish the thorough mastication of the starchy foods before taking any fluid, and then fluid must be sipped slowly. 7. Have a raw vegetable or fruit salad with every protein or starch dinner. 8. Do not take a protein dinner oftener than four times a week, unless specially instructed to do so by some authority on diet. 9. Raw fruit and starch can be taken in the same meal by most people; however, the cooked fruit, and especially that cooked with sugar, when combined with starch is inclined to start fermentation in the stomach. 10. Remember that the mineral elements are necessary; and these cannot be secured through iron tonics, etc. They can be utilized by the organism only when secured from natural foods. See http://chetday.com/hbprogram.html for a list of the different types of foods, i.e. starch, acid, etc. "First they ignore you, then they laugh at you, then they fight you, then you win."-- Mahatma Gandhi
