They are generally more palatable, easy to make and less hassle than capsulation. Honeys and syrups can be made from tincture, decoction or raw herb bases. The honey paste takes the least amount of time and effort to prepare and it makes even the most bitter of herbs palatable. Basic Herbal Syrups 1 part alcohol extract2 parts corn syrup Shake well and store in dark rubber sealed bottles. Avoid using metal lid. Or 1 part infusion or decoction1 1/2 parts sugarHeat to a simmer, cool and store in clean jars or bottles. Basic Herbal Honey1 part infusion or decoction1 part honeyHeat to a simmer, cool, and store in glass jars or bottles. Herbal Honey Paste Finely grind herbs and place in a small bowl.Add honey while mixing until the desired consistency is reached. The consistency in the picture is that of wet brownie mix.Place in a small jar and seal. Avoid metal lids. To use, scoop a small amount in a spoon and swallow. Start with the amount of about two large capsules and adjust your dosage from there. How To Make Honey Herb Pills Making honey pills is easy and the whole family can help. These can also be dropped into hot water for an instant herb tea (much like the Chinese tea pills). What you will need: Dried herbsGlass or ceramic dishesSpoon and or wisk (optional)HoneyFlour, cornstarch, or corn flourWax paperDark or opaque sealable containerGrinderSifter or sifting screen.
