Hi,

This is my first time posting. I enjoy reading and larning from

this group and want to bnegin being more active. I have a question

about mixing EO's with water.

A friend of mine, a massage therapist, sells aromatherapy mists in

her practice. They are a mix of different EO belends with distilled

water. They are inhaled and each is meant to help with different

health issues.

I have looked through the aromatherapy books I have and cannot find

anything about mixing EO's with water.

Does anybody know if this is an acceptable way to use EO's.

Thanks for your help.

Diane

Dear Diane,

Eo's which are oils, don't mix with water, unless a chemical

is added.

I would imagine she has to shake it up all the time, OR

she uses hydrosols, which is the spent water that comes

from distilling the plants in steam.

Hi Janine,

Thanks for your response. She suggests shaking the bottle each time you use it. I just didn't know if the water had any effect on the effectiveness of the EO.
