Since ancient times, comfrey andyarrow have been used to soothe, cleanse, and regenerate skin. Yarrow is also an excellent hemostatic that stops bleeding and often heals woundswithout scarring. Comfrey was so popular in medieval times that it wasbelieved to restore virginity with only one bath. So, if you want to follow an herbal tradition you must try at least oneomfrey-yarrow bath. It is an excellent treatment for varicosities andspider veins.2 quarts water2 cups each comfrey and yarrow leaves In a large pan, simmer water. Add comfrey and yarrow leaves. Fresh ispreferred, but dried also works well. Two ounces of comfrey root can besubstituted for comfrey leaves. Cover and simmer at the lowest heat for 30 minutes. Remove from heat and allow to steep 30 more minutes. Strainand add to a warm bath or foot-bath.
