The first appt with the dr, she was givin steroids, and cream. It helped, but after the steroids were gone, the rash got worse. The dr. appt today, he put her on antibiotics, atarax, and more cream. Anyone have an idea as what to do to help her. It isnt a food allergy, the dr is an allergist. Thanks for any help.
Guest guest
I wonder if applying apple cider vinegar to the rash would help? It works for yeast infections and such. Maybe give that a try? I spritz it on my whole body when I shower....helps fix the ph balance in your skin. You can mix it half and half with water or use it straight...I do both....just depends on my mood. *lol* The smell goes away after just a few minutes. Guest guest
This virus sounds like what my niece had last month. She was broke out in a rash from head to toe, itchy and miserable. Then her joints swelled up also. The doctor said that its a virus that goes around every few years. He had seen more patients with it in two weeks then he had in several years. They did the same thing..steroids/antibiotics etc. Apparently there body just has to ride it out. He explained it that different kids react differently. Some may get this virus and have cold/flu like symptoms. (My daughter and oldest niece had these symptoms, while the youngest is the one who broke out in the rash/swollen joints.) Some may get the rash etc. It took her about two weeks for the rash to go away and the same for her joint pain. Good luck Kathy
Guest guest
What you guys are describing sounds very much like Fifth Disease, see link http://www.kidshealth.org/parent/infections/bacterial_viral/fifth.html On Behalf Of mistynights234Friday, May 20, 2005 8:23 AM Subject: Re: help with itchingThis virus sounds like what my niece had last month. Guest guest
Wow, this went through here ( So Cal) in February. One daughter, three grandkids ( 16, 8 and 1) and my fiance all had it. Four different doctors gave four different diganosis: flu and heat rash for ther athletic 16 year old; scarlet fever for the 8 year old ; allergic reaction for fiance and cat scratch for daughter and 1 year old. Very frustrating, only daughter and 1 grandbaby got antibiotics, but all doctors gave steroids to each, though no one took them. I'm so sorry your family is going through this; mine was miserable. Atarax helped some, oatmeal baths with lavender helped some also. Everyone feel better, Bobbie - mistynights234 Friday, May 20, 2005 5:23 AM Re: help with itching This virus sounds like what my niece had last month.
