Guest guest Posted April 3, 2005 Report Share Posted April 3, 2005 Glitzy Jean Gift Box One photo or video storage box.One pair of Jeans.Fabric glue or hot glue gun.Beaded trim and matching ribbon.Computer fonts.Miscellaneous: seam ripper, scissors, fabric marker or Sharpie, iron, white cardstock, hole punch. Instructions for craft: Cut the jeans open along one of the side seams using theseam ripper. Iron Flat.Position the center of the box bottom over the side seam. Measure the box sides and mark the jeans leaving enough fabric to wrap up and over the box edges.Cut a square from each corner, leaving a 1/2 inch tab on each end. Fold the tabs and iron flat.Repeat steps 2-4 with box top.Spread a thin line of glue on the box corner. Adhere thejean fabric to the side of the box, pulling the fabrictaunt and holding the fabric for a few second while theglue dries.Spread a thin line of glue on the inside of the box edgeand wrap fabric over the edge. Hold tightly for a fewseconds while the glue dries.Cover the entire box and box top by repeating steps 6-7. Designing the box: Remove one jean pocket using the seam ripper or scissors. Adhere the pocket to the front of the box top with a glue gun.Remove the waistband with belt loops, using the seamripper or scissors. Adhere the waistband to the box topwith a glue gun.Add the beaded trim to the pocket. Thread the velvet ribbon through the belt loops and adhere it to the inside of the box top. Print a holiday message on the white cardstock using creative computer fonts. Trim the paper to form a card shape. Punch a hole in the tag. Thread velvet ribbon through the hole and tie it in a knot. Tuck the gift tag into pocket.
