Probiotics for pets?

Wondering if you should give your canine companions supplements? Dogs

can benefit from vitamins and minerals - usually found in their foods

- as well as probiotics. Just as humans need active, " friendly "

intestinal flora to help us digest our food and maintain a healthy

bowel, so do dogs. To enhance your pet's diet with active cultures,

treat them to kefir or plain yogurt on occasion, especially if they

have had to take antibiotics. It can help restore and maintain a

healthy digestive tract

My dogs share my kefir every morning and so far so good :) I started last year when my little Yorkie needed 2 - $500 back knee operations. I started grinding up glucosamine,C, Cal/Mag, & flax seeds. She was 'well' in 2 weeks, sure cheaper than surgery!
