Guest guest
Nutrition Month - Dining OutMany restaurants are notorious for serving over-sized portions of food. To avoid consuming more fat and calories than you need (or want), keep the following guidelines in mind next time you dine out: Avoid buffets, which can lead to overeating. Instead, order one serving of an item. If the portions are large, simply take half home and eat the rest the next day. Clear soups tend to have less fat than cream-based ones. For fewer calories and fat, ask for sauces and salad dressings on the side. Then, enhance as you wish. Dishes that are grilled, broiled or steamed are typically lower in fat and calories than meals that are sautéed or fried. Use the power of mindful eating. Truly savor, enjoy and focus on what you are eating. You may only need a few bites of a rich dessert to satisfy a craving - not the whole thing!
