Guest guest
Women: Are You Breathing Easy?Lung cancer rates for American women have risen over the past few years; it is now the biggest cancer threat to females. Take these steps - regardless of gender - to help prevent your risk of lung cancer: Do not smoke. Nearly all lung cancer cases are related to smoking. Women appear to be more susceptible to the effects of cigarette smoke - including secondhand smoke - than men. Eat a healthy diet. An antioxidant-rich diet can help to nourish the lungs. Include apples, oranges and tomatoes for their protective effects, as well as other foods with carotenoids (the pigments in vegetables such as carrots, dark leafy greens and yellow squash). Consider your supplements carefully. Avoid high doses of straight beta-carotene, which may increase the risk of lung cancer in smokers and former smokers. Use only mixed carotenoid formulas if you choose to supplement your diet. Diana Gonzalez Nothing wastes more energy than worrying - the longer a problem is carried, the heavier it gets. Don't take things too seriously - live a life of serenity, not a life of regrets. -Unknown
