Guest guest
Tonics: Some of the herbs considered to be tonics for the digestive system include bitters, such as gentian, agrimony, and dandelion root. Spearmint is also a good digestive tonic, because it can settle an upset stomach just by adding it to your tea or food. You don't need to prepare it in some form as a remedy Tonic herbs are known as gentle remedies, and the herbs that fall into this category are generally very safe for anyone to use. Tonics are often used by people who are already in a good state of health and want that to continue. These herbs are used in a general fashion (for energy, for example), rather than for a specific problem. "Tonics" describes the herb itself or the manner in which it is used, rather than a specific method of delivery (such as an infusion or tincture). One problem with the word is that it has been used throughout history for quack medicine promising cures for all ills. Nothing cures all ills, but gentle herbs can help you reach optimum health. Consider tonic herbs for an overall sense of well-being, or to prevent illnesses. ~geocities.com/saqatchr
