Guest guest
Good Evening Fellow Veggies! I started a Pagan/Vegan list last year on ,and invite all of you to join and add recies of your own,if not I started a pretty good file base! BTW You need not be Pagan to join!LOL! I will send each of a formal invitation!LOL Here's A Sample of What You'll Find There: ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Oven Apple Oats Source~ " Mousewood Restaurant:New Classics " 3 1/2 Cup Rice Milk (I use Rice Dreams Vanilla) 1 cup Steel Cut Irish Oats (I use McCains in the Silver Tin!) 2 teaspoons Pure Maple Syrup 1/2 teaspoon freshly grated Nutmeg 1 to 1 1/2 Cup peeled & Diced Apples 2/3 Cup of Currants or Raisins (I use white Raisins) 1/2 teaspoon salt Notes From Lady Falconfire: Quick or Instant Oats will not work! You will end up will a paste!LOL! Steel Cut Oatmeal is a grain not a flake..If you have never had the Real Irish Steel Cut Oats then you are in for a Treat! Also,Please use Fresh Nutmeg..It tastes better, smells better and you can find the seeds with the mini grater in most good Grocery or Health Food stores! The powdered Nutmeg tends to get stale and not have the same aroma or flavor! What to do: *Preheat Oven to 375 degrees * In saucepan heat rice milk on medium heat until hot but not quite boiling.Stir in Oats, maple syrup, nutmeg & diced apples. Continue to cook for several minutes. Right before mixture comes to a boil add raisins & salt & stir well.. * Spoon Oatmeal mixture into a 1 1/2 quart casserole dish, cover and bake for 25 to 30 minutes,or until all the liquid has absorbed & the Oatmeal looks creamy! Perfect for a rainy or snowy Sunday morning!
