Guest guest
Herbal Oil Herbal oils are easy to make and can be used for a variety of purposes: massage, insect repellants and a base for salves, ointments and creams. (Use dried herbs or fresh herbs that have been allowed to wilt overnight to lessen moisture content.) Place herbs in a wide mouth canning jar. Slowly add virgin olive oil until oil level is an inch above the herbs and has 1 in. head space. Cover with lid and ring. Place jar into crock pot. Add enough water to crock pot for the water to be halfway up jar. Cover crock pot and place on low for 12 to 24 hours. Strain and place in sterile jar. Label and store in dark, cool place. ***Just a little note on labeling. This is a must and will save you money, time and frustration. Label everything with the name and date. ~gentlespirit.com
