Guest guest
FINE LINENS When it comes to caring for fine linens, hand-washing with a mild cleaner is usually the only way to go. Put your fine washables in a basin of lukewarm or cold water, swish, then soak for up to five minutes. Gently squeeze out the detergent, empty, refill the basin with clean, cold water and rinse the item. Lay your delicates flat to dry. Now, let's say you want to use vintage linens as upholstery, bedding or pillow materials. You want to be sure they can stand up to everyday use and cleaning. So, before you do anything with the vintage linens, toss them in the washer with a mild detergent, and then into the dryer. This cleaning method may change the textile's appearance, but that may be ok too. At least you'll know, before you make up the new item, that there won't be any nasty surprises later.
