BREAK ALL OUR BAD HABITS BY FOLLOWING THE CURE INDICATED BELOW, WHICH

ALWAYS WORKS By Dr. Bernarr, D.C. D.D. Everybody can completely break

bad habits, of drugs, alcohol, tobacco, food, crime, illness,

gambling, sex, irrationality, etc.. You may contend that you can't

break your bad habits because you are addicted to something. Nobody

is addicted to any bad habit. It is impossible to be addicted, to be

physiologically dependent and need anything, that is bad for you. To

contend that you are addicted, implies that some external destructive

stimulus is controlling you. You are irrationally assigning to

something outside your body, pathological power over you.

To contend that you are addicted to some bad thing, is to give

yourself an excuse for your wrong belief, that you are unable to

break a bad habit. To contend that you are addicted, gives you an

alibi to rationalize, that you are unconsciously and compulsively

devoted and obsessively dependent, upon some bad thing.

If you have bad habits, then you have other vices acting like a

vicious circle, reinforcing them. Every bad habit you break, helps

you break your other bad habits. Change your thinking and life style

and your bad habits will disappear. It is impossible to have bad

habits, if you think and live properly.

To break bad habits, live properly, eat a raw fruit and vegetable

diet, so as to minimize digestive stress and conserve energy. Sleep,

meditate, be aware and exercise vigorously, all you can, get all the

sunshine and fresh air you can, into every part of your nude body,

think correctly and positively, love and forgive every living being

and don't hurt or punish any living being.

Practice is indispensable. The secret of success is practice. Habits,

unlike instincts, are acquired patterns of behavior. We are born into

the world without habits. All habits are man-made.

To break a bad habit is to acknowledge your desire to quit and to

cultivate an attitude of avoidance. Rid your environment of the

offending substance and all related items. Daily habits are an

outgrowth of our beliefs. Educate yourself and revolutionize your

thoughts to help you change your living habits. Enthusiasm is what

generates change. " Whatsoever a man soweth, that he shall also

reap. " " Who harms not self, naught can harm, " says The Bible.

8 steps to change: know yourself, plan, alter your environment, find

healthy replacements, think of yourself differently, ask for support,

meditate and plan a relapse strategy.

Habits are ways of behaving that become ingrained by repetition. You

do something so often that it becomes automatic. With motivation and

concentration, you can learn to break bad habits. You " force yourself

to think first " and then retrain yourself.

People are moved to change for a variety of reasons. When it comes to

self-improvement, the reason that you change is because you come to

care enough about yourself, to make it worthwhile. Inner values play

a role in change. If people make behavioral changes without changing

their internal values, beliefs and attitudes, the new behaviors are

less likely to stick. Strong motivation, then, makes change easier.

Before you do anything, you must have at least some desire to do it.

Preparation is necessary, too. As creatures of habit, we prefer the

status quo. So if there's a habit you'd like to change, get to know

yourself better and understand the reasons for it.

How you think, feel and act, have important consequences in your

relationship with yourself and others. Because habits are so much a

part of your character, knowing ways to eliminate bad ones and

develop new ones, is invaluable. You can improve anything, if you

persist. Habits weren't formed in a day and they won't be changed in

a day. Practice may not make you perfect, but it will, in time, give

you a new habit.

To change, we have to have a high purpose and high motivation. Also,

we need to substitute one reward for another, so we don't feel as if

we are punishing ourselves. You replace lousy habits with wonderful

habits. It's a very enjoyable experience. -Expect to falter and plan

for the setbacks. A slip is just that, a slip, not a reason to blame

yourself or to give up.

Keep in mind that it will be harder to maintain your resolve when

you're feeling defeated, frustrated, angry or tired. At these times,

try to recall all of the reasons you want to change. Four things are

needed to break bad habits: Self- examination, avoiding possible

sources of temptations, a strong act of will and a right philosophy

of life. I have helped thousands of people and animals, world-wide,
