Guest guest
<<I have not tried this yet but intend to convert it for the bread machine.>> Hi Suzi, Non-yeast breads won't turn out well in a bread maker. But they are much easier than yeast breads in any case, so the breadmaker isn't really a big time saver there. Betsy who is several days behind on messages - boy they pile up fast! Guest guest
hands down, this is my favorite. The smell that my apartment gets, an then the wonderful flavor! You can make it healthier, by using unbleached flour, and using honey or raw sugar instead of refined, processed white sugar. BANANA BREAD 1 1/2 cups flour 1 cup sugar 1/2 cup (1 stick) Butter, softened 3 Very ripe bananas, mashed 2 Eggs, beaten 1/2 tsp. Salt 1 tsp. Baking Soda Cream sugar and butter. Add bananas and eggs. In separate bowl sift the flour, salt, and baking soda 3 times. Add to banana mixture and blend well. Add chopped nuts if desired. Pour into a well greased (9 " x 5 " ) loaf pan. Bake in pre-heated 350 degree oven for 45 minutes, or until cake tester inserted comes out clean. Cool in wire rack.
