Guest guest
Thomas, >On that note a third question, a two parter: >What is that best Materia Medica in the Chinese language and is there a >source to buy it from here in the US? > I do not believe there is any such thing as ``the best'' materia medica in Chinese. There are many mm in Chinese and they offer different things. Some of them have color plates, some are only text, some are based on personal experience, some are compilations of many historical sources. So it really depends what you want. In Chinese, there is no one source (a la Bensky) and with all due respect to Bensky for the immense achievement of his materia medica, I hope that there will be more English-language materia medica soon, as well. China Books in San Francisco can probably get you a mm. I don't have contact info for them, but Spring Wind probably does. The only problem with buying books here is that you will pay exorbitant prices for books that are very cheap in Asia. I would suggest that you get several copies of the materia medica, if possible.
