I do not believe there is any such thing as

``the best'' materia medica in Chinese. There

are many mm in Chinese and they offer different

things. Some of them have color plates, some

are only text, some are based on personal

experience, some are compilations of many

historical sources. So it really depends what

you want. In Chinese, there is no one source

(a la Bensky) and with all due respect to Bensky

for the immense achievement of his materia medica,

I hope that there will be more English-language

materia medica soon, as well.

China Books in San Francisco can

probably get you a mm. I don't have contact info

for them, but Spring Wind probably does.

The only problem with buying books here is that

you will pay exorbitant prices for books that are

very cheap in Asia. I would suggest that you

get several copies of the materia medica, if

possible.
