Guest guest
not my recipe, I got it from my files... Cream soap recipe all ingredients are by weight. Oils 4.6 oz. of light oils ( you can use any light oils or do half and half of your favorite light oils I prefer to use 2.3 oz of olive oil and 2.3 oz of jojoba oil or just 4.6 oz of olive oil) 6 oz. coconut oil 4 oz. palm oil 2 oz. stearic acid (works best at temps of 140 and up) add 1 oz of e-wax to prevent seperation but not necessary if you use clay in your recipe. If you use clay remember to use 1 tablespoon and put it in your water and let soak over night. Lye = 2.4 oz. KOH & .7 oz. NAOH distilled water = 20 oz. 1 oz. by weight liquid glycerin USP (add to water before adding lye) Makes 38.6 oz Make sure you sprinkle the lye over the water / glycerin mixture and stir. Melt all oils including the stearic acid in a stainless steel pot or in a crock pot. I prefer a crock pot. The oils need to be at least 140 deg. before adding your lye water/glycerin solution. Drizzel in your lye water glycerin mixture into your oil slowly while you stir. You will see it already foaming up around the edges of the pot. After I have finished adding my lye water glycerin solution I then use a stick blender on and off for about 10 minutes or less... alternating the stick blender and stirring with a plastic slotted spoon. You will notice it getting thicker and come to a trace. Make sure it has fully traced or it will seperate. It will get nice and thick as you blend it. You can now add your pumice or clay or any other addatives. 1 table spoon of your favorite clay is all you need. Don't forget to soak your clay in 1 oz of water over night though and add it at or before trace. Add 1 to 2 oz of pumice to make a good foot scrub and add peppermint EO's. I like to add jojoba beads for a nice soft exfoliant plus it gives it some color without having to add colorant to it. You can add as much as 60 drops of EO's or FO's. Be careful not to add to much and make it too thin. I like to add tea tree oil and lavender EO's along with jojoba beads for a good facial cleanser. This recipe makes 2 pounds and 6.6 oz of creamy soap or 38.6 oz's You have to let it sit for 7 or 8 days so the pH level reaches about 8 or 9. You can test with a PH test strip or just let it sit longer to be sure. I've never had any burning or stinging after using this formula after the 8th day. I keep my base in a wide mouth plastic container and scoop it out as i need it with a soup ladel and add my EO's and addatives as I need them. YOu can whip it up also before you package it and force air into it but it doesnt take much. Just a quick 2 minutes will fluff it right up. You can package this in a wide mouth jar for creamy foot scrubs or add sea salt for a nice salt scrub et. I put this in malibu tubes for making facial cleansers with the jojoba beads. Everyone loves this.
