Guest guest Posted June 22, 2004 Report Share Posted June 22, 2004 Whole Grain Wheat Bread 1/3 cup plus 1 tablespoon brown sugar 2 cups warm water 1 package yeast 5 to 6 cups whole wheat flour 3/4 cup powdered milk 2 teaspoons salt 1/3 cup vegetable oil Dissolve 1 tablespoon brown sugar in water and add yeast. Lel mixture stand. In a large bowl, put in 4 cups flour, powdered milk and remaining brown sugar and salt. Mix well. Add yeast mixture and oil to flour. Mix and knead. Knead in rest of flour until dough is nice, smooth and elastic. Place dough in a greased bowl, turning to grease entire ball. Let rest for 30 minutes, Knead down and form into loaves and put in greased loaf pans. Let rise until doubled in size. Bake in a 375 degree oven for 35 minutes.
