Guest guest Posted June 19, 2004 Report Share Posted June 19, 2004 Apple Cobbler 1 stick butter 2 cups sugar 2 cups water 3 to 4 cups finely chopped apples 1/2 cup shortening 1 1/2 cup self-rising flour 1/3 cup milk cinnamon Put water and sugar on low heat to melt. Put butter in 9x13 pan to melt. Combine self-rising flour and shortening well. Add milk to complete dough for crust. Roll dough thin. Spread finely chopped apples on dough and sprinkle with cinnamon. Roll, jelly roll fashion, sealing ends well. Cut into 14 to 16 pieces and lay in 9x13 pan on the melted butter. Pour syrup mixture over. Bake at 350 degrees to 375 degrees for 45 minutes.
