Sorceress Air Freshener Doll

Materials needed:

2 ounces of Main color 4 ply yarn

1 ounce of contrasting color 4 ply yarn

1 cone type air freshener

1 air freshener doll

9-12 inches of 1/4 inch satin ribbon either in contrasting color or

Main color.

Size F Hook

No picture available, this is a dress that has 2 rows of shell

ruffles along the skirt, these are done in contrasting color. I used

a deep blue for my main color with a cream colored yarn for the

contrast. I added several different crystal beads dispersed

throughout the ruffle edge and mid-line of the bodice. I used a

combination of stars and half moons.

Bodice:

Ch. 19, (do not chain 1 for rows 1-7, it will come out smoother)

Row 1: Sc in 2nd ch from hook and in each sc across. Turn

Row 2: *Sc in next sc, 2 sc in next sc. Repeat from * across. Turn

Row 3: * Sc in next 2 sc, 2 sc in next sc, Repeat from * across. Turn

Row 4: Sc in 1st 5 sc, 2 sc in each of next 8 sc, sc in next 10 sc, 2

sc in each of next 8 sc, sc in last 5 sc. Turn.

Row 5: (armhole shaping) Sc in 1st 5 sc, ch3, skip next 16 sc, sc in

next 10 sc, ch 3, skip next 16 sc, sc in last 5 sc, Turn.

Row 6: Sc in each sc and chain across. Turn

Row 7: sc in each sc across. Finish off. Do not turn.

Skirt:

With RS facing you, join yarn with sl st to 1st sc at right waist. Ch

3

Row 1: dc in same as joining, 2 dc in each of remaining sc. Turn

Row 2: ch 2, dc in each dc across. Turn

Row 3: ch 2, dc in each dc across. Join to beg ch 2 with sl stitch.

You will now be working in rounds.

Round 4: ch 2, working in back loops this row. Dc in each dc around

join with sl st.

Round 5-6: work in both loops - ch 2, dc in each dc around. Join with

sl st.

Round 7: Work in back loops only this round. Ch 2, dc in each around,

join with sl st.

Round 8: ch 1, sc in same st as joining. * ch 3, skip 2 dc, sc in

next dc, *repeat from * around end with sl st to beg ch 1. Fasten

off. Weave in edges

At center back join MC with sl st, ch 1, sc in same st as joining,

*Ch 3, skip 2 sc, sc in next sc * repeat around. Join with sl st.

Just be sure they are fairly evenly spaced apart. You are going up

one side of back, across the top neck edge and down the opposite side.

Now take the dress with the back in front of you Top of dress towards

ceiling and join the contrasting yarn with sl st at the center. Sc in

each sc around using the front loops only. You will be working from

the center towards the left around to the front. Join with sl st to

complete the round.

Round 1 shell ruffle: Ch 1, sc in same as joining, skip 1 sc, *5 dc

in next st, skip 2 sc, sc in next sc, skip 2 sc * repeat from *

around. Join with sl st, fasten off and weave in tail.

Repeat this round on the next lower unused front loops.

Finishing: Use a hot glue gun to glue your freshener doll to the cone

shape. Let cool. This is the point where you can add crystal beads

along dress if desired. The bottom row is stunning when you add them

to dangle from the chain 3's. Dress your doll. Take the satin ribbon

weave through the back loops and tie closed.
