Uses for Reynolds Wrap

Remove rust spots from chrome car bumpers.

Rub the bumper with a crumpled-up piece of Reynolds

Wrap dipped in Coca-Cola.

Keep dogs and cats off furniture.

Place pieces of Reynolds Wrap on the furniture. The

sound of rustling foil frightens pets.

Clean pots and pans when camping.

A crumpled-up piece of Reynolds Wraps makes an

excellent pot scrubber.

Fix battery-operated toys or appliances.

If the batteries in a Walkman or a toy are loose as

the result of a broken spring, wedge a small piece of

Reynolds Wrap between the battery and the spring.

Speed up your ironing.

Place a piece of aluminum foil under the ironing board

cover to reflect the heat from the iron.

Make decorative trays or holiday decorations.

Cut cardboard into desired shape and size and cover

with Reynolds Wrap.

Catch messy oven drips.

Tear off a sheet of Reynolds Wrap a few inches larger

than baking pan. Place foil on the oven rack below the

food being baked. (To prevent damage to the oven, do

not use foil to line the bottom of the oven.)

Avoid paint splatters.

Mold Reynolds Wrap around doorknobs when painting.

Polish chrome.

Use a piece of crumpled-up Reynolds Wrap to polish the

chrome on car bumpers, strollers, highchairs, and

playpens

Improvise a funnel.

Double over a piece of Reynolds Wrap and roll into the

shape of a cone.

Secure plant cuttings.

Place Reynolds Wrap across the top of a glass jar

filled with water. Poke holes in the foil and insert

the cuttings securely in place. The foil also prevents

the water from evaporating too quickly.

Make a disposable palette.

Mix paints on a piece of Reynolds Wrap.

Clean tarnished silverware.

Line a metal cake pan with Reynolds Wrap and fill with

enough water to cover the silverware. Add two

tablespoons baking soda per quart of water. Heat the

water above 150°F. Place the tarnished silverware in

the pan so it touches the aluminum foil. Do not let

the water boil. The hydrogen produced by boiling

baking soda combines with the sulfur in the tarnish,

removing the stains.

Clean a barbecue grill.

After barbecuing, place a sheet of Reynolds Wrap on

the hot grill. The next time you use the barbecue,

peal off the foil, crinkle it into a ball, and rub the

grill clean, easily removing all the burnt food.

Re-adhere a linoleum floor tile.

Put a piece of Reynolds Wrap on top of the tile and

run a hot iron over it several times to melt the glue underneath.

Place several books on top of the tile until the glue dries

completely.

Prevent steel wool from rusting.

Wrap the pad in Reynolds Wrap and store it in the

freezer.

Clean starch off an iron.

Run the iron over a piece of Reynolds Wrap.

Store wet paint brushes.

Wrap the wet paint brushes in Reynolds Wrap and store

them in your freezer. When you¹re ready to paint

again, defrost the brushes for an hour or more.

Store leftover paint.

To prevent a layer of skin from forming over the paint

surface, set the paint can on top of a sheet of

Reynolds Wrap, trace around it, cut out a disc of

foil, and place it on the paint surface before sealing

the can closed
