Alternative Tips: Aromatherapy

 

Basil can act as a powerful depressant if over used. It should be

avoided during pregnancy

 

Cypress oil should not be used by anyone who has high blood pressure

 

Hyssop should not be used during pregnancy. hyssop in general should

only be used in minute amounts

 

Lemon and eucalyptus oils burn them in wee burner if you have the

cold cause it kills any germs that are in the air.

 

Tea tree is a natural antiseptic. It can be used for cuts, etc but

it can also be used to sterilize things, sinks, and toilets.

 

Lavender is good for burns. It can be applied straight onto the skin

 

Lavender is good for migraines.

Place a few drops in boiling water and inhale. Just 2-3 drops in a

large bowl.

 

Marjoram do not use in early stages of pregnancy. Can have a

narcotic effect

 

Never mix more than 3 oils, as the outcome cannot be determined.

Adverse effects can occur depending on the oils used.

 

Sweet almond oil is a carrier oil and it can be used to massage

babies- providing they have no nut allergies

 

Drop about 2-3 drops of eucalyptus oil in a bath, it is good for

asthma, bronchitis, skin infections, rheumatism, and can reduce

fevers.

 

Rose oil is good for circulatory problems, headaches, constipation,

and mental fatigue. Just add a few drops into the bath.

 

Do you know that a lot of people cannot use some oils if they have

certain conditions. Like epilepsy or are pregnant

 

Rosemary should be used with caution. Minimal amounts again. Can

bring on epileptic fits or convulsions

 

Do not use rosemary if you are pregnant or suffer from high blood

pressure

 

Sage and clary sage should be avoided in early pregnancy and epilepsy

 

Reflexology

Gently work over the base of the heel with the pad of your thumb.

this can ease constipation

 

You can use your big toe and your thumb. This corresponds with the

head. So if you have a headache. Gently press with the thumb pads

across the toe in lines till you reach the bottom of the toe, this

should relieve a headache
