Guest guest
Hey Guys, I've had a few transactions I wonder about. These are crystal and new age type shops. Is there a general, across the board problem with orders getting shipped out and received on a timely basis, such as 5- 7 days, or less? I had an order make its way home to me in 3 weeks, for example. What gives? There is a trend here. It's happened since. Now I've just had words with another one, who is giving me all this guff about how special her stuff is and it takes that long, and people respect that, etc etc. I also come to find out that she takes your money before she has all of your items in stock. I was told that all of her items are exceptional, exquisite products. She carries many one of a kind items, and customers understand how long it takes for her staff of 5 to get things through. She has celebrities, directors, and agents for customers, too. (Not sure what that needed to be added in here.) She also told me that she has to have your money up front so she can order the stock. I don't think that is legal, is it? What is UP with this, and can someone please give me some answers? Love and Light, Erin
Guest guest
Hi Erin, I sell crystals online and I am in Australia, it usually takes between 7-21 days to get to anywhere in the world. sometimes there can be hold-ups in customs, but not very often (believe it or not with our postal service I can sometimes get things to America quicker than I can interstate). It is normal practice to pay for goods before they are delivered. However if the person does not hold stock of an item they should tell you this before you buy as, long as the customer knows in advance I do not think that there is anything illegal in doing this. With my store if an item is out of stock you will see that and you cannot order an out of stock item. I also have some unique crystals and jewellery but you still cannot buy them if I do not have them in stock. If there is a delay with some item then the seller should contact the purchaser and let them know and give them an opportunity to either cancel the order, purchase something else or wait until the item is in stock. Some shopping carts do not have automatic stock reduction when someone places and item in their basket and this can cause two or more people to order an item when there is not enough in stock (hope I am making myself clear) there are things that can be done to prevent this and I have done this to my store,(I must admit after a double order mistake). Again if the goods are in stock and her staff cannot handle the quantity of orders then perhaps she should put someone on to help her cope, just like I have had to do. I have been online selling crystal healing products for over 5 years now and so far I have only had two customer with a complaint and that was a Mercaba Pendulum that got slightly damaged in transit, and a packing box that was broken the crystals inside were all fine. I hope that this information helps you. Guest guest
Erin: Welcome to the internet. People will tell you anything to get your money. There's no excuse for poor business practices; take your money elsewhere. On 3/12/10 17:43, " figure1789 " <figure1789 wrote: > Hey Guys, > I've had a few transactions I wonder about. Guest guest
Erin, I agree with the other two responses. I am a seller and we try to get our items out within 24 hours whenever possible. Sometimes we may have to get some items from our showroom and that may slow things down a bit but that doesn't happen very often. I will pay for a courier to bring them to us if the items are valuable. There are a few dealers that buy from us and then resell them. The person you are talking about may be one of those people. I know for a fact that she sells our items and then places her order with us. She was actually using our photographs without permission and I had to ask her to remove them. That is actual theft of intellectual property. We do sell jewelry that we don't have on hand and that has to be made to order. That may take a few days longer than our normal shipping. The time the order takes can depend also on the shipping method. We have had people order 1st class mail and get upset that it didn't get there as fast as our normal priority mail items. The customer wants the cheaper shipping but they don't want to wait. :-) So... it depends on what you are buying, who you are buying it from and what you are paying for. Bottom line... if you are not happy, find a new source for your treasures. In gratitude, John Van Rees Exquisitecrystals.com Jane Harper wrote: > > > Erin: Welcome to the internet. Guest guest
>Is there a general, across the board problem with orders getting shipped out and received on a >timely basis, such as 5- 7 days, or less? Most internet businesses either drop ship or order once they receive orders. I have run my businesses this way for more than 10 years online. When a customer orders, it states that it can take up to 3 weeks for delivery. It is expecting a bit much to get your order in 5 - 7 days. I don't even receive my orders from my wholesalers that quickly. If you want 'instant gratification', you should shop stores in person.
