diatomacous Earth works but you have to use others things like putting all food in containers, doing the dishes immediately, not leaving the trash out, not having a cluttered house, watching to make sure the kids don't leave food, dirty dishes, food/candy wrappers, etc... around. I had them years ago and yes you can get rid of them. sprinkle the diatomacous earth behind all of your appliances, in the backs of cupboards, under the sink, in closets, its not going to hurt the kids or pets. But being organized, clean (on the compulsive side of clean) and lots of diatomacous earth works, be sure and sprinkle it outside around the house so the neighbors pets (bugs) won't visit you when they spray MaryTyonne Lone Elk <Redbrickmama wrote: We have been in a war for 4 years with roaches. We have been in a war for 4 years with roaches. I have used lbs of Diagous earth(sp) 100's of baits but they keep comeing back. Whenever a neighbor bombs they move in with me. Thank You Tyonne I know this may sound too simple but I once had to stay in a roach ridden hotel in transition in a scary situation and I used those combat bait things and put them all around the room and believe me it was infested with them and they all went away and stayed away til I needed to replace the baits which was about 3 months. You might try borax. Sprinkle it around (inside cupboards,

baseboards if possible) but not where pets or kids

can get to it. The roaches eat it, swell up and die.

You might also try lemon eucalyptus, catnip or osage orange

essential oils, which can be dropped onto pieces of cloth or cotton

wool and placed in the corners of your cupboards to repel

cockroaches and to fragrance your clothes (don't get the oils on

your clothes or they may stain them.)

You can get rid of roaches, even if you live in an apartment, but it

does take being fanatical about cleanliness and having no clutter or

any type of trash/debris around.

Just as an FYI - alcohol is poisonous to dogs and they should not be given

it. There are many things that humans consume or have in their homes that

are toxic to dogs. So you should always research and human consumable before

giving it to a dog. This also applies to cats. There are many houseplants

and chemicals as well. (The chemicals are of course toxic to us as well if

we consume them.)

Here are a few web sites that have various listings for things that are

poisonous to our furry family members (some of them list how the specific item

is bad for the animal and some do not. None of the lists are complete.

While all of them may list some of the same foods/chemicals, they also have

some different things listed as well.):

The bottom line is, just because we can safely consume certain amounts of

human foods, does NOT guarantee our furry family can.

Blessings to your day all.
