I present to you a bit of Food for Thought, my fellow crystal-lovers.

CRYSTALS, ENERGY and YOU by Kayt Rivermoon (aka kayt5)

 

Many people ascribe all kinds of magical and healing properties to stones and

crystals. I personally have worked with crystals in the Quartz family in

healing and self-development work for over two decades.

 

What I have come to realize through this work is that the true " powerhouse "

behind the crystals does not necessarily come from the crystals themselves!

 

Rather it comes from Mother Earth, Great Mystery and one's connection to Them,

and perhaps more importantly from your own HEART, MIND and SOUl.

 

Permit me a moment of SCIENCE before I explain further.

 

Physicists know that when some types of crystals are subjected to stress they do

produce a weak electrical current (piezoelectricity.) Silicon--the main

ingredient in the Quartz crystal family, and the largest mineral element in the

Earth's crust, is electrically described as a semi-conductor, which is halfway

between a conductor (such as copper and silver) wherein electricity passes

easily, and an insulator, where electricity does not pass (wood).

 

Semi-conductors are the basis of microchips, which make such things as computers

and smartphones work. Being semiconductors, I think it is entirely possible that

crystals can " pick up " on the " vibes " of a location or of a person.

 

A tumbled quartz for sale at the Grand Canyon will likely carry an echo of the

peace and granduer of that place. In the same way, an ocean-tumbled quartz may

carry with it an energetic echo of the ocean. Crystals that are exposed to

energetic locations such as the

Sedona, Arizona Vortexes, or a mountaintop, may well come away with an echo of

these places.

 

However, I think that many of the " curative " properties of crystals and stones

are more in the eye of the beholder than in the stones themselves.

 

But--that is OK ! If a certain rock of crystal makes you feel better. by all

means USE it. There is much to be said and to be learned from our capabilities

for self-healing, which the medical profession calls " the placebo effect " .

 

At the same time, understand that it is not the stone doing all or even most of

the work, but rather YOUR energetic interaction with it. (And don't forget to

seek the advice of a medical professional for the BIG problems.)

 

I tell people that the " magic " of crystals and stones comes not from the objects

themselves, beautiful as they may be. But the magic comes from

 

WITHIN YOU--

 

from within your HEART, MIND and SOUL.

 

These places, along with a strong connection to some aspect of the Great Mystery

(God, Goddess, Mother Earth, the Universe) are what we should strive to

understand and develop. Let the crystals serve as guides and touchstones on your

journey, but also realize that it is YOU that is Living, Changing and Becoming.

To add to Kay's thoughts, the placebo effect, while disdained by many in the

Western Medical community, i think is one of the most powerful ways to heal, is

through your beliefs. What man has to learn is to consciously heal through his

thoughts, feelings, and emotions.

 

And since quartz acts as a transmitter and responder, our thoughts when we

" program " the crystal need to be " crystal " clear as to what we want. The

crystals will amplify our thoughts, our feelings, and emotions. So when Kay

says the magic come from within, she is correct. (That is also one of the

purposes for cleansing crystals after every use. Anyone using crystals for

healing and/or using on others should cleanse them after every use.)

 

With that said, the crystals, stones, etc. have their particular matrix and

vibration frequency. Some will work better than others for issues. Flower

Essences are similar in the fact that you need to match the correct flower to

the issue you want to address. That is the law of resonance: security and

insecurity are on the same wavelength just at opposite spectrums. One is a

higher frequency, the other a lower frequency.

 

When you take the correct flower essence for insecurity, you are taking a flower

essence that has a higher vibration, through entrainment, it will bring the

lower vibration up to the higher vibration. Just as tuning forks do, tap a fork

in the key of C and if there is another C nearby, it will begin to vibrate, but

if the other fork is in the key of D, there will be no response from the D fork.
