Guest guest
Dear Ellen, I am going to suggest for your friend's wife Cordyceps Sinensis. Here is the link: http://www.beautyisscience.com/cgi-bin/beautyisscience.cgi/s_8686s?mv_pc=real . You can take advantage of the introductory price by getting the very low priced membership. It has no known side effects. It helps the resperatory, and the circulatory systems...It is quite safe for a pregnant woman. (Unless she is alergic to mushrooms). In ancient times it was only given to the highest of the Chinese Dynasty to lenthen their lives. The Chinese won 9 gold metal in the 1993 World Track and Field Championships while taking this because it gives you vitality without making you feel like you had coffee (gittery). Tibetan cordyceps sinensis:Gathered from the Tibetan Plateau, where few plants are able to survive due to harsh weather and low oxygen levels. Helps rejuvenate the body and promote energy. Double-extraction technologyIncreases the purity and effectiveness of the final product. Each stick contains extracts taken from one Tibetan Cordyceps Sinensis mushroom. No need to brew. Dissolves easily in water and the effective ingredients are easily delivered to your body. I hope this helps!, Kathy
Guest guest
Bell's Palsy is a paralysis of one side of the face. The origins are not understood very well, however it appears to be a B-12 deficency that may be the underlying cause. This fits in nicely with the pregnancy. Tell your friend to look for a special form of B-12 called methylcobalamin. It is the activated form of B-12 and can reverse the condition. Hope This Helps, James
Guest guest
Hi everyone, First of all, thanks to all of those that responded to my original post about Bell's Palsy. I've passed the information on. Let me explain a bit. As i mentioned, the person w/the bell's palsy is the wife of one of my husband's employees. She (and her husband) live in Israel. There are 2 interesting things here. 1 - my husband is subconsciously admitting that he is beginning to see value in naturopathic remedies since he bothered to ask me to " check with your organic people " :-)(he watched me doing the cleanse with a large amount of cynicism) and 2 - if this works in helping them, we will greatly expand our group of " believers " in the benefits of natural remedies (israel is a small country and word travels FAST!). So .... I am posting the feedback I got from Yehiel (the husband) about his wife's situation. She has had the baby, is 11 months post bell's palsy onset, and stuck (no progress in last 3 months). Please keep in mind that for suggestions you make, it would be helpful if you could provide a link about where to buy stuff (your local health food store may not work in Israel). We can always buy stuff here and get it to them, but i don't know where to buy stuff either). Thanks for all your help! Ellen Here's yehiel's email (remember, english is a foreign language for him): As James said (and also some doctors here in Israel), the origin is not known and it is assumed to be B-12 deficiency. Smadar took B-12 for several months, but has started only 3 months after the onset. I should check if it contains the special B-12 form James is talking about. Theresa talks about stress, and if you remember, we talked about it. Smadar was under a lot of stress when she got it. However, it seems they all suggest treatments for the first weeks after the onset. As Smadar is 11 months after the onset, her problem is somewhat different. Most of the people which have Bell's Palsy, get cured without doing anything during the first 3 weeks. Bell's Palsy paralyzes one side of the face, and there is better prognosis for people who don't have full paralyze of that side. Because it is assumed that Bell's Palsy is cause by B-12 deficiency and stress, it is suggested to help the body by taking B-12 and raising the levels of it. Maybe it would be better if I describe Smadar's history and the situation today. I hope this is not a bother for you, but your help is very much appreciated. Smadar was on her 7th month of pregnancy last October. She started to feel an irritating feeling inside her ear, a day after she felt her left cheek like it was numb (like after being to the dentist) and a day after she felt a teeth ache. She was under a lot of stress on that week, as she was about to start being under pregnancy care (shmirat herayon), we moved to our new apartment and she had to finish some stuff at work. She didn't tell me anything about it, and neglected it. A day after I saw that her left side is not moving and she was not able to close her left eye. We rushed to the ER and realized it is Bell's Palsy. The doctors told us that in most cases it will disappear after 3 weeks, and in some cases it will take 3 months and she should not be worried. They recommended us to take Zovirax (anti-viral, as it is assumed one of the causes of Bell's Palsy is some kind of the Herpes virus) and Prednison (steroids). We were not sure it was safe to have these treatments while pregnancy, but after consulting some experts she took the treatment for a week. We didn't see any change for 3 months. There was no movement on the left side of the face. During these 3 months, Smadar had 2 sessions of acupuncture a week, got treatments with ultrasound and a device called " tense " , which stimulates the nerve system. She also had session of physiotherapy. After 2 months, Neta was born. We got the recommendation to start taking B-12. She started taking B-Complex and after 1 month her eyebrow started to move. She continued with the B-Complex, stopped all other treatments as she felt the effort of doing them is much more than the benefit. She slept more and reduced stress and the situation was getting better. After one more month she was able to close her eye half way and 1 month later she was able to close it fully. It took 2 more months for her mouth to show first signs of movement. After six months from the onset she was able to move her face. She was however left with residuals. She couldn't move her mouth fully when she talked and smiled. She had synkinesis (some nerves work together) – when she smiled her eye contracted and her left eyebrow was somewhat higher than the right side. The doctors estimated that her left face side activity returned by 30%. She started a Bio-feedback treatment on the sixth month after the onset. During this treatment you connect electrodes to your face and do repetitively a single movement. You see a live comparison of your left and right side on a special graph bar on a computer display. The assumption is that by trying to compare the graph levels of both sides, you will train the mind and by that you'll get a more " balanced " look of the face. This treatment is experimental here in Israel and is maintained only in one place in Tel Hashomer. She stopped the treatment after 6 weeks because she realized the stuff here in Israel are not very professional. So the situation now after 11 months from the onset is that we didn't see any change during the last 3 months. She still has only slight movement of her mouth, her eye contracts when she smiles and chews. The doctors say there is no treatment now and that she should not expect any more progress. Some even said the situation can become worse over time. I would appreciate (if it is possible) to check with your wife's sources if they have any suggestion for the situation today. At any rate, we would take their suggestions seriously, as Smadar stopped taking the B-Complex 2 months ago. Reducing the chance for a Bell's Palsy to outburst again is very important also. Thanks again, Y
Guest guest
Hi, It is Theresa again. About Smaders Palsy: My OB/Gyn doctor is Dr. Meneffee. I have talked to him in regaurds to my nerve problem and her Palsy. What he told me is that nerve demyelination is the process where the fatty substance, nerve sheath, is damaged. Due to inflamation, infection, or cortisol issitation such as in chronic or extreme stress. In my case, I have several of these factors. He also told me that nerve sheaths grow back very slowly less than 1 " a month. So her recovery will take some time. In addition he told me of a personal story involving his friend who demyelinated his nerves with chronic stress to the point of paralysis in over half of his body, requiring hospitilization. Dr. Menefee said it took a year to recover, but his friend was purely allopathic and tried no herbals. I still bellieve the fatty acids, sublingual b vitamins, flax seed, the passion flower tea to ease her worries should be tried for at least a month. I have been nursing my son for 1 1/2 years and have been taking these supplements since before he was born. He has suffered no ill effects at all. He is very big. 35 " and 34 lbs. Healthy and never been vaccinated and only 1 illness since birth which was just last month. Here are the addresses for where I get my stuff: Wilderness Family Naturals for the coconut oil: It has lauric acid, a well needed nutrient. You can use it for cooking. The expeller pressed is not fermented and is kosher if she is observant. Ripplecreek.com is where I get my sublingual b vitamins. These are important for nerve health and are SAFE for baby and mom. Good Earth Natural food company is where I buy Twinlab Emulsified cod liver oil mint flavor. This is a very tasty way to take fish oil with natural omega 3 fatty acids that both she and the baby need for brain and nerve health. It is totally safe with normal sun exposure. If she sunbathes, then she gets vitamin d through sun exposure and should take take Carlson's fish oil. It is not as tasty, but plain fish oil has less vitamin d that you can get from the sunexposure. Old Time Herbs is an online herbal company that offers flax seed. You can grind flax seed with a regular 5.00 coffee mill and use it on yogurt or cottege cheese. This is an excellent way to get more fatty acids. You can also get catnip and passionflower herb from the above and use it as SAFE relaxing teas the are SAFE for nursing moms too. I hope that she gets to smile a full smile for her new baby soon. ===== Love and Laughter, Theresa M. Hook hooked_on_travel
Guest guest
I would also recommend looking at the Nerve Regeneration Formula in the files. Guest guest
HI Maurita, I have never treated Bells Palsy with crystals before, just manipulation, but I would approach it with garnet or another stone with a sufficient iron content......and wear it for its effect on sympathetic reasonace. I would wear it close to the throat as Bells Palsy affects the But B12 is the nutrient traditionally employed for Bells Palsy...and I would get a sublinginal spray for under the tongue...... As well the nerves passe through the Parotid Gland which is frequently associated in spiritual healing with grief and sadness. My favorite stones for that include Peridot and Green Spodumene or Kunzite. Oftentimes there is TMJ disorders and or recent dental disorders....such as anesthesia. You can ask your friend. Then I would go to a good Osteopath or Naprapath one who does manipulation.....or a Chiropractic who does manipulation but eases on the high velocity thrust.... Good luck, Dawn Silver DN Jewels of the Lotus Oracle ps Blue Lace Agate seems a wonderful stone to use as well.....just saw you had said a throat infection.....so all natural anti-inflammatories would be great....Chlorophyll daily from the Wachters Organic Sea Veg Products in Daley City Ca....I would drink a good few glasses per day...and Chlorophyll is naturally high in B12. --- On Tue, 8/25/09, ms_healinghands <maurita.harling1 wrote: ms_healinghands <maurita.harling1 [CrystalHW] Bell's Palsy Tuesday, August 25, 2009, 3:02 PM Has anyone any experience of working with this or any other palsy.. which crystals would be good.. Guest guest
Thanks so much for the thorough reply to my query re Bells Palsy.. I am sure we should be able to help her on her way to health.. Ironically I have been approached to help a young lady who has Tolosa Hunt Syndrome which has similar effects ie facial palsy... Any extra thoughts on this?
