I have been using my pendulum for around a year now, while not regularly I would pull it out when I was having trouble with decisions. Tonight I was picking out a crystal to wrap for my mother for her bday and I had several though was leaning towards 1 in particular. I asked over each crystals if this is the crystal for my mom and I got yes's and no's but yes to the one I felt was best for her. Then I was trying to pick a green kyanite for myself and I had 3 that I liked. I went over each of those. I noticed I started getting yes's and no's over the same one. So in my head staring at the pendulum I would say yes in my head and my pendulum would swing yes, I would say no in my head over the same crystal and the pendulum would swing no. I did this several times over different crystals. So now what? I know the pendulum gives us answers from our higher selves but now how do I know I am not influencing it to what I consciencely think? I have never had this happen before and I am amazed really at how quickly it responded to what was in my head. What does this mean? FYI: I have never " learned " how to use one. Guest guest Posted May 3, 2009 Report Share Posted May 3, 2009 If you imagine yourself standing back as you hold your pendulum, & try to detach from the question; treat it as if it were an unknown question you're asking for a stranger, you should be able to get true and CONSCIOUSLY unbiased answers. Perhaps your higher self just can't make up it's mind. I don't know, but I would imagine that MIGHT be possible. Why don't you try saging yourself and your Pendulum, and TELL your higher-self that it willl need to make certain and definite decisions (for the highest good). Also seems like MAYBE you'd been working with your Pendulum and Crystals to where you may have needed to take a break and come back to it later.... Greetings and Salutations Stephanie and all, A pendulum is merely an extension of yourself as is any form of divination, especially when you are doing the " reading " on yourself. Deep down you know the answers and are just trying to bring them forward into your conscious mind. I have used this pendulum method myself on occasion for selecting a gifting crystal (usually when I am in a hurry and I don't have time to actually sit with the crystals in question.) You were drawn to 3 separate crystals for yourself for a reason, even though they are the " same " crystal type, their energies will still have subtle differences. I feel if you can afford to buy all three then I would do so (unless all 3 are already in your care and it is just a matter of to wire wrap or not ... in that case then wire wrap all 3, either separately or in an artistic fashion all together ... say in a triangle formation or even straight up and down side by side with the 2 outer crystals higher then the center crystal or some other shape that feels right to you. Wrapping them separately, you could even go with making a pendant and a pair of earrings so that you can wear just one or all three at the same time ... just some suggestions). First, I always have a pendulum that is just for me and one for all others. Second, When I think that my thoughts are in the way, I say in my head, clear, clear clear, I do this after I have asked the question. Third, I always (after finding a answer) ask one more question if this is__________(stone) is to the my highest good. Concerning the stones, - I have also found that pendulums like to shop - so be careful they do have individual tastes like you and me in picking things. Fourth, Could it be possible that your pendulum needs cleaning. They pick up a lot being in a pocketbook or out in public in general. Or it may just need energy. Fifth - but this is most important do you at the beginning of each day (especially before using a pendulum) do you ground yourself? I have a saying that I go through that I make sure no other than " white light " , etc It is a grounding and opening for using the pendulum and to make sure that you only get correct answers from the true source - not the wrong one. Sixth - Be very very specific with your questions. Pendulums are extremely detailed. Hope some of this helps. What is you do about the green stones? Did you get all three or just one? Seven - warning pendulum can hold negativity and entities. Had a beautiful purple stone one I purchased a couple of years ago and then but it had entities in it and they kept returning no matter what I did. the strand finally broke and I put it away. However, here I will share two sites of the many on the net, that I found to be very clear in pendulum instructions, and as I always say, you can modify or amplify for whatever is best for you, and your comfort / belief level is. http://www.crystalcreekproducts.com.au/newage/articles/linda/pendulum.html http://www.newspiritservices.com/pendulum.html I also a firm believer of centering and grounding as well as cleansing, clearing, acceptance of program and / or dedicating crystals, clearing psychic chords, Karmic Bands and etc.. I personally have a ritual where I do a house cleansing / clearing every 14 days. Then (after cleansing, clearing, programming, and dedicating has been properly done...and done only when needed) I hold my pendulum and concentrate on my breathing to relax, I then center and ground (which is an extremely important step and a must for me) , then I ask / pray for the protection of my Spiritual Guides, Ascended Masters, etc., from only the highest dimension, as well as their presence to enter into the pendulum to assure me accurate answers, then I pray / ask that I be protected from all negative energies and influences, then I word my questions as such by always starting with the Highest Good of me and all (if I am asking for someone else, with their permission)...for example....Is it in my highest good to take the Flower Essence class this Fall? ...or for example....I may say something like...Spitit..I applied for a job as a lab tech with XXX Company, do my guides see that it is in my highest good to receive this job?....wording is essential. Interestingly enough as an experiment try this.....if you just sit and ask your pendulum a question...then with your mind....will it to swing yes....it will swing yes..then will it to swing no...guess what? it will...experiment again by maybe willing it to swing whatever your direction is for a maybe answer...IT WILL!.....so therefore, you can see that one must try to get in a state to where only answers are coming from the subconscious or if you are having trouble...after you ask a question..{you MOST DEFINITELY DO NOT WANT to think of an answer, or your pendulum will pick that answer up and give you that answer}....have your mind go blank as best as you can....or if still having trouble, after you ask a question, simply repeat in your mind...something like...please tell the truth, or only the truth please....or something to that effect that is most comfortable for you, as to not influence your answer. Again, you would want to try to get your mind as clear and blank as possible when you ask your pendulum a question, or YES...it will pick up your conscious (as the pendulum is an extention of ourselves as one member said) and swing to whatever direction you are THINKING. After you have grounded youself and asked permission sit with your pendulum and ask it to show you it's yes, no, maybe and when it is thinking. Every one's is different. For me my yes is left, no is right, maybe is straight in the middle and thinking is a circle. Use some simple pie charts for maybe which repair person is the best, what vitamin is the best for you, etc. Always start by asking a simple yes and no question that you know the answer to. like is my child asleep. Is it nighttime. Don't use pendulums for long periods of time - they tire. They each have their own personalities, likes and dislikes. Here is a link to my favorite chart. It really helped me to gain confidence. It has it all, letters, numbers, intefferance, change subjects, red flag, and more information. Pendulums that are carried around with you or in a car may need to be cleaned more often. Remember that in a pinch anything can be used as a pendulum, even a pencil with a string and a paper clip. When working with others either in a reading or for healing, remember to ask the pendulum permission,as well as if you are the right person, if it is the right time, Also don't be in a hurry for your reply, don't be surprised if different pendulums acts differently. I have one that I will ask a question, it will reply and then swing in a circle and then reply again. IF it replies differently then I will ask the question in a different way. The problem is I sometime use it in places where there isn't time or a chance to meditate, such as when I go to crystal shows. I know I could NEVER be away from my crystals though. That would be like asking me to cut my arm off for a time. They are a part of me. I don't use my pendelum daily, sometimes I have gone over a month without having used it. So I don't think it is being over used. What I still don't understand is why I was able to make it change its swing from yes to no with just a change in my brain thoughts yes/no, it immediately changed. I don't even feel confident in its answers anymore. I hope it doesnt offend anyone with my particular use here but it is what I do for myself. I understand the feeling of hey, am I influencing this to say what I am asking or is this the truth here. So this is what I do; I sage my stone/crystal and I also put it in the moon light on the full Moon inside of a abalone shell with sea water... To recharge it and the sage helps to release negetivity from it. Before I use it, I go outside and ground myself to the Earth with my hands and feet and sit there saying my own internal feelings and breath slowly until I feel ready. I come inside and I ask my guides for assistance in my questions while holding the end of the stone in my hand to warm it up. I breath like I did outside and I feel completely zerod in to my magick. I turn my head to the side and wait for them to show me my answer that is in my best interest to know. I guess I feel that if my eyes arent on it I wont be directing it to what I am hoping it will say. So looking offf to the side, I totally remove my consciousness and the feel from myself and simply step aside. And I have to tell ya, when you start to try this you can not focus on it by feel of its going to NO or its going to YES. Totally let it be the energy comming to you. I think you will sence the difference of energy once you turn you head back and notice its going a different way then suspected. And you wont feel so conscious of influence. Let me know how it went for you. It may take a few times to get the notion of ok I think I know how to do this now. It feels better to me now. I'm thinking that the Crystals sitting in near proximity MIGHT be sending energies that can affect the Pendulum's outcome. I've been to one MAJOR convention for " Gems and Crystals " : You have to be a professional member/vendor, card/carrying, membership paying member. This means that the amount of every kind of Crystals and Gems is MIND-BOGGLING! In the hundreds of thousands! My Crstal Healer had taken me and two other girls to this 'convention. The four of us went our seperate ways. By the sheer NUMBERS of Crystals, the energies were FAR past Incredible! We three girls automatically, and without being aware of it, became extremely spaced-out--I mean " our there " . One table would beckon, and then others after that. And we'd each just follow the beckoning. We were all three in the " Zone " . My healer had learned how to expect and deal with this kind of mega-energies, so she was in control of herself. I felt sorry for her, for when it was time to leave, she'd find one of us, and then proceed to look for the other two. She'd locate the second one, only to find that the FIRST one had been drawn away and back to the Crystals. She went round and round like this until she was finally able to get us all three to gather at once. THen I got confused and wandered off into the underground parking lot, thinking I was suppose to be looking for the car---Spaced-out and looking! Once again, my Healer, with the other two girls in tow, was off and looking for me. Some how we finally all found each other and the car. When my Healer finally dropped me off at my car, I suddenly got this MASSIVE headache. The energies from the Crystals had just been too much. My head pounded and felt like it was going to Explode! Anyway, this was my experience with being surrounded by so much Crstal Energy. Anybody else had experiences with attending these Conventions/Shows? As for my own personal reaction at shows, yes I do get " high " . At my first crystal show was over whelming but I was so excited and happy. I did feel like a kid in a candy store. I find some shows are higher energies than others, which is normal I am sure. Most I am ok at the beginning but the longer I am there, the more spaced out I can get and its harder to make decisions. I also feel pretty spaced out at the end though nothing like what you experienced with wandering away. Mostly just a headache. I make sure I eat right after and that helps. I also brought water with me at the last one and that helped. During my Reiki class on the 2nd day everyone started getting VERY silly and it was extremely hot, my Reiki master said it was an overdose of energy and she fed us all salty items like nuts and pretzels. It calmed everyone down and she said that salt will counteract that. So maybe bring a small bag of chips with you to a show next time. Guest guest Posted May 5, 2009 Report Share Posted May 5, 2009 Wowo that quite an experience. I used to go to the gem and mineral shows in Tucson and I would always leave feeling over stimulated! I was not sure if it was the shere excitement of waiting all year for the show and then geting to go or that combo and the crystal energy. I remember feeing like I had drank a pot of coffee and had serious jitters. I don't drink coffee at ALL EVER. Strange. This would happen when I arrived and would slowly disipate after I had left. A lot of times It would even be hard for me to pick my crystals because I would feel so overloaded by all the crystals saying " pick me. " I still feel this way when I walk into a crystal shop too. What I still don't understand is why I was able to make it change its swing from yes to no with just a change in my brain thoughts yes/no, it immediately changed. I don't even feel confident in its answers anymore. Stephanie If you imagine yourself standing back as you hold your pendulum, & try to detach from the question; treat it as if it were an unknown question you're asking for a stranger, you should be able to get true and CONSCIOUSLY unbiased answers. Perhaps your higher self just can't make up it's mind. I don't know, but I would imagine that MIGHT be possible. Why don't you try saging yourself and your Pendulum, and TELL your higher-self that it willl need to make certain and definite decisions (for the highest good). Also seems like MAYBE you'd been working with your Pendulum and Crystals to where you may have needed to take a break and come back to it later.... Stephanie Hi Stephanie, About using your pendulum at the Crystal Shows? I'm thinking that the Crystals sitting in near proximity MIGHT be sending energies that can affect the Pendulum's outcome. I've been to one MAJOR convention for " Gems and Crystals " : You have to be a professional member/vendor, card/carrying, membership paying member. This means that the amount of every kind of Crystals and Gems is MIND-BOGGLING! In the hundreds of thousands! My Crstal Healer had taken me and two other girls to this 'convention. The four of us went our seperate ways. By the sheer NUMBERS of Crystals, the energies were FAR past Incredible! We three girls automatically, and without being aware of it, became extremely spaced-out-- I mean " our there " . One table would beckon, and then others after that. And we'd each just follow the beckoning. We were all three in the " Zone " . My healer had learned how to expect and deal with this kind of mega-energies, so she was in control of herself. I felt sorry for her, for when it was time to leave, she'd find one of us, and then proceed to look for the other two. She'd locate the second one, only to find that the FIRST one had been drawn away and back to the Crystals. She went round and round like this until she was finally able to get us all three to gather at once. THen I got confused and wandered off into the underground parking lot, thinking I was suppose to be looking for the car---Spaced- out and looking! Once again, my Healer, with the other two girls in tow, was off and looking for me. Some how we finally all found each other and the car. When my Healer finally dropped me off at my car, I suddenly got this MASSIVE headache. The energies from the Crystals had just been too much. My head pounded and felt like it was going to Explode! Anyway, this was my experience with being surrounded by so much Crstal Energy. Anybody else had experiences with attending these Conventions/ Shows?
