I won't go into detail about WHY this has happened, but almost ALL of my mineral stones & crystals are no longer with their labels, so I don't know what is what. How do I get them back to being labeled & in proper order? This seems to be a huge undertaking, but if there's a way.............P.S. I have books such as " Rocks & Minerals " which show photos of various stones, & give description, but often I cannot tell if the stone photo is the same as my crystal or stone. Help! But the idea of sorting through, picking out the ones I DO know, & labeling THEM is a good idea; Process of elimination. Thanks, Peggy! How about a rock shop close(ish) by that you could take them in a little at a time and ask the people that work there if they could help you ID them? Possibly a school (college/university) nearby that offers a geology course? Maybe you could speak with the instructor and see if the class could help you ID them. I would think it would be a great learning experience and practice for all in the class. Last would be the use of a geology professional but that would certainly cost you money though.
