Dear All,

I do not wish to sound rude to anyone here, but irrespective of the beliefs

which anyone may have, and which deserves my full respect, I prefer to stick

with the story that has been handed down to us over the ages regarding the

Shiva-lingams, as in Hindu mythology.

I may add that Shiva-lingams are not only of stones or crystals, but are also

made from mercury, solidified with the help of certain herbs, a knowledge known

to the saints of India, and this form of the Lingam is considered to be the most

powerful and is worshipped in Hindu homes. Mercury, it is believed, is the sperm

of Lord Shiva and " Yogis " practice a method whereby they can make the flow of

their semen upwards, into their blood-stream, and this in turn manifests itself

in the glow that can be seen in their faces. I have a mercury Shiva-Lingam at my

home too. When I was " gifted " this by a " sadhu " , I could feel a different

vibration on my palms, when placed there, and I just could not bring myself to

return it to him. Such Shiva-Lingams are difficult to come across, even here in

India. I do not have a picture of the Lingam with me now, but if someone is

curious, I could share a photograph, if requested.

Crystals, which appear in the form of Shiva-lingams, are also used for worship

in Hindu homes, and maybe also used to heal, as with crystals.

The Brahmakumari sect, having its headquarters in Mount Abu (India) do believe

that Shiva is the source of all energy and knowledge that pervades the earth and

, if I got it right, use the ovoid form to denote Him (Lord Shiva). Maybe the

spiritual teacher who gave her views on the Lingams, could be a follower of this

sect.

Regards.

Naresh
