Guest guest
I want to address your statement about buying most of your items on ebay... This is a caveat... Be careful! There are many dealers on ebay who don't know what they are doing. People find something... write something up about it or worse.. steal information from a legitimate website. There is always Ajoite on Ebay that is Not ajoite... it is chrysocolla in quartz. The sad thing is that many of these dealers just don't know that they are doing or are naive and believe the unscrupulous wholesaler who sold it to them. For Example.. http://cgi.ebay.com/3-Ajoite-in-Rough-Quartz-Messina-South-Africa_W0QQitemZ20030\ 8159587QQcmdZViewItemQQptZLH_DefaultDomain_0?hash=item200308159587 & _trksid=p3286\ ..c0.m14 & _trkparms=72%3A1205|66%3A2|65%3A12|39%3A1|240%3A1318|301%3A1|293%3A1|294\ %3A50 This isn't even from South Africa... it is acutally from Zimbabwe across the border from the Messina Mine. Some of the ebay dealers who are selling stones that are not what they say they are even have 100% positive feedback.. because the poor novice that buys from them doesn't know any better either! There are many more legitimate dealers on Ebay than frauds. But... you have to have discernment when using Ebay. There are even some big name dealers in the business who mis represent the stones they sell simply as a marketing strategy. I was told in Tucson by one Brazilian dealer of an American business that buys this dealers Strawberry Quartz that is mined in Brazil and the American retailer sells it as Madagascar Morganite! This is a very well known company that is doing this... and one many people rely on for information as well. I have seen other items such as Amethyst Clusters or points on Ebay.. and the dealer says they are AA Grade or such.. and are really a very poor and low quality. If the buyer hasn't experienced better stones in person they don't have a reference point to know if the item is really that grade or not. Bottom line... just because a dealer says it is A, AA, or AAA doesn't mean that it is any better than a B (Commercial Grade) or even that it is what they are saying it is. Anyway... I know there are a lot of novices on this list and I don't want to see any of you getting burned on your purchases. :-) In gratitude, John Van Rees http://www.exquisitecrystals.com > Sorry I hit the wrong button and it posted before I finished typing. > As for a gem, I consider it to be just the same healing as a raw > crystals.
