Guest guest
The first thing that came to mind was diet. this is what I could find on the web. Sinus infection, or sinusitis, is an inflammation of the sinuses and nasal passages. Symptoms of a sinus infection include headache or pressure in the eyes, cheeks, nose, or on one side of the head. Other symptoms may include nasal congestion with thick nasal secretions, cough, fever or bad breath. CURING DIFFICULT or STUBBORN SINUS INFECTIONS If antibiotics and/or the below-listed home remedies are not curing your sinus infection, you need to take a look at your diet and eliminate all mucus-forming/thickening foods or drinks. Milk, citrus, spicy foods, wheat, cheese, etc. are usually the culprits. Try eliminating them from your diet for a few days. Then try all of the following: * Grapefruit Seed Extract -- your sinus infection may disappear after a couple of days of grapefruit seed extract. We like the drops, but be forewarned -- they taste terrible!! Also, never take them on an empty stomach (especially first thing in the morning). * Potassium supplements -- dries up mucous. * Drink apple cider vinegar throughout the day in large glasses of water (ACV thins mucus). * Let a hot shower run onto your face (forehead and nose) and then clear all the mucus from your sinuses. Do this several times a day. * Try Oil Pulling, a fabulous remedy from India which alleviates Sinus Congestion within about 10-15 minutes. You should see improvement within a day or two. Guest guest
other factors may play apart too in aggravating the sinuses.Perfume and central heating are culprits. Guest guest
I am no expert on this subject , but may i ask do you get them out of the blue or after a cold ?.or maybe both ? I believe in some people the sinuses overreact to certain substances . , as i said before , perfume and central heating can inflame the sinuses .I say this as mine are aggravated by perfume and the dry central heating. i would imagine so would cigarette smoke .(i say that because they effect my sinuses ) .The sinuses will produce mucus and it is the mucus that becomes infected . I am wondering what is the cause of the mucus .... Has your doctor looked into it futher ? as i have known people who have had bone removed from the sinuses to correct this problem . I have used a nose spray here in the uk called Beconase ( not to be used when you have an infection ).But it prevents the nose from producing mucus if it is due to an overreaction to certain substances . Steam treatments with olbas oil / or menthol crystals added will give you comfort and relief . Guest guest
Aloha Gypsyheart . . . I've had sinus infection that would not go away and treated it with an herbal tincture called Usea. It's available in most health food stores nationwide in brown bottles with a green and yellow label, but also available online through www.herb-pharm.com (important to include the - dash), a company in southern Oregon that has very high standards and great on-line service. My infection never seemed to go away and I discovered it when asking an herbalist about a recommendation for friends husband who always returned from hospital with pneumonia. Dietarily avoiding mucous producing dairy products and adding immune boosters helpful. It's made from a plant called Witch's Beard, the green mossy stuff that hangs from trees in many areas. To have full effect I used the tincture with pinch of salt and pinch Golden Seal as a nasal flush in same way that many use what is called a 'neti' pot. Instant relief, but important to also take tincture internally as directed so that effect is systemic. As for crystals. . . Blue Lace Agate and Green Moss Agate seem to be speaking up! Blissings! Guest guest
There are a number of crystals that may be of benefit--aventurine, flourite, blue toumaline etc., depends on what feels right for your situation and system! Also a Nettie (sp) Pot works well for nasal passage cleansing/health. It was recommended to me when I had a sinus infection and certainly improved the inflammation/infection.. others who have used them swear by them as well! Guest guest
Try a Homeopath, and in the meantime start taking echinacea and vitamin C to boost your immune system. Antibiotics don't cure, they just drive the dis-ease deeper. Muriel , " Gypsyheart777 " <charmedlife12000 wrote: > > Hello all my name is Gypsyheart. Guest guest
Milk, citrus, spicy foods, wheat, cheese, etc. are usually the culprits. Try eliminating them from your diet for a few days. Rice is also mucous forming. Try the Neti pot and use a humidifier in the winter months. Maria
