Guest guest
amethyst is a very good stone for this, either put it in his drinking vessel if it is a bottle he is drinking from for saftey reasons or try to get him to carry an amethyst stone around with him telling him it will bring him good luck, this stone is good for any addictions. Guest guest
>' Maria, Amethyst is the stone that is usually used for Alcohol (and other) addictions. Amethyst is also used for connection to Spirit. It is my belief that all addictions come from not being connected with God/Goddess/Source, so anything that can help with that connection will help with the addictions. Guest guest
Right on, John, He has been on a limbo regarding his spirituality. Now he decided that he is an agnostic (bordering on atheist, I'd say). But the truth is, I think he is depressed. He doesn't sound too good and I see sadness in those eyes. He says he is tired because he does too much at school. He sleeps very little. He is an overachiever and has many other important responsibilities besides being the best student in his area. Perhaps it is too much for a 19 year old when everyone expects a lot from him and he needs a break. I gave him an Apophyllite and a prehenite that I got from Melody's book. She says that all Zeolites are good for addiction, though I don't think he is at this point. He already has an amethyst and I told him to wear that as well. I will make a little bundle with the rest of crystals that Raelene mentioned. For good measure I prepared some Bach Flowers for him to take as well. I thank you all for helping me with this. Guest guest
Maria, As one parent to another.. if he is drinking when he doesn't want to. or if it is causing problems he probably does have an addiction to alcohol. And chances are good that other things may be involved as well. As parents, sometimes we don't want to see it or admit our kids may have a serious problem. Good luck and make sure you are taking really good care of yourself as well. Guest guest
An amethyst crystal is very helpful, but in regards to issues with drinking Alcholics Anonymous is probably the most effective and will give a support system. Also AlAnon is available for the loved ones of problem drinkers. --- On Mon, 10/27/08, John Van Rees <john wrote: John Van Rees <john [CrystalHW] Re: Drinking Monday, October 27, 2008, 1:20 PM Maria, As one parent to another.. if he is drinking when he doesn't want to. or if it is causing problems he probably does have an addiction to alcohol. Guest guest
Hmmmm.....Are you sure that no other drugs are involved? I am just mentioning this to you, not from a critical point at all.....I'm also a Mom...and human to boot!! (lol) It's just that, as a rule, alcohol and sleep go together...as in...it's about impossible not to sleep...if someone is drinking in excess. Could he possibly be mixing to try and control energy or activity ....(?) Like doing some type of speed/crack...whatever.... when he needs to be on...and alcohol to come down or escape? I noticed that you said that he is an overachiever..and " maybe he needs a break " ....Please be careful not to fall into the role of the enabler (through good intention). If he feels the need to escape and like he's not in control of his life... it makes sense that he is depressed! That's actually a very common response in coming down and or waking up from alcohol or whatever ones drug of choice may be. You're awaerness and care puts you on the right track but, as with anything think holistically. ________________________________ John Van Rees <john Monday, October 27, 2008 4:20:05 PM [CrystalHW] Re: Drinking Maria, As one parent to another.. if he is drinking when he doesn't want to. or if it is causing problems he probably does have an addiction to alcohol. I do keep Amethyst surrounding me... but AA is what actually opened my mind, which concluded in using the healing methods available to us. In the AA literature, it says and I quote " Never have we've seen a person fail that has thoroughly followed our path " . Guest guest
Si la I am answering to the forum because there is so much good information coming from this. My son is not addicted, though I suspect he has the tendency (his grandparents on his father side are both " functional " alcoholics). Do you still think he should attend an AA meeting? I mentioned it to him the other day and he thought it was ludicrous. What is your position? Thanks much, Maria , " silalasangre " <silalasangre wrote: > > > Yes, i did and still do go to AA. Guest guest
Hi everyone, I am sorry I sent the group a message without noticing this digest here. I truly appreciate your input. My son is an artist. He goes to an arts school where at least 80% of the students do drugs. He had informed me that he would not take drugs because though it increases the imagination for a while, it later saps it from the person and the last thing in his mind is to lose his imagination. So, though I know he has tried pot he has not pursued it or other drugs. The good thing about my son is that he always tells me everything and is honest about it (or I would never know about his drinking) Now, the next day after our conversation when he has told me about the meeting with his friends and his getting drunk once a week, I noticed that his voice sounded better, less depressed. I mentioned going to AA and he dismissed the idea. He knows I am worried because his grandparents are alcoholics. I told him that I had attended AA meetings twice or was that the Anon? because I thought that his father was a dry alcoholic. He taught me that dry alcoholics are those who had been alcoholics once and are now dry. What I had meant was that my ex had most of the behaviours without drinking alcohol. Or perhaps he was just crazy. Anyway, his school is very demanding and he works way too much. They all do, including 12-14 hr per day during the weekend, classes going to 11PM and meetings and so on. He told me he drinks because it relaxes him. He likes the feeling. Now, he always knew that drinking has to be regarded as a social activity, for enjoyment, and not for relaxation. This week, he has gone back to helping other students with their projects and he feels more alive. In reality I think this has been a combination of loneliness (his boyfriend has graduated and left town) and too much work. Besides his liking the alcohol, of course. I am not saying this as a denial or anything. I am trying to see things as realistic as I can. He knows he has my support but I told him to give me the keys to his car so that he learnt once and for all that it is not ok to get drunk. He told me that it would not be necessary as he would not get drunk again soon. I trust him though I am afraid one of these days his stupidity might destroy his life. Ah... mothers! I intend to take him to an AA meeting by Thanksgiving (we will both be less busy then) and make him keep his word of not getting drunk until then. One step at a time, right? Thanks for " listening " to me. I absolutely appreciate you all and al open to listening to all your ideas. Guest guest
Dear Maria: There is so much to be said here, and I am not sure where to begin, so I am going to make a few remarks concerning your issue with your son and his addiction. Of course he will not say he is addicted, he may not even know he is. He may not be willing to accept this fate for a very long time, if ever. Alcoholism is when ones life becomes unmanagable when one drinks. A person may also have an unmanageable life if he is " dry " too, it's all the same .. sorta. Anyhow, he is in a denial level, who knows how long it will last. You can only make a suggestion to him to attend a meeting, can't make him. Even when one commits a crime or a series of crimes while in an addiction law enforcement or the legal system can mandate one to go to meetings but meetings won't work unless he wants them to work. But, if he does go to a meeting or two and hates it, one day when he comes to terms with the desease he will remember something about the meeting (s) that will invaribly help him to some degree. This is all for now, but I will ALWAYS talk with you about it when you come to me. Be well my sister, keep the faith and do all this One Day at A Time. si`la , " drmoratto " <drmoratto wrote: > > Si la > > I am answering to the forum because there is so much good information > coming from this. > > My son is not addicted, though I suspect he has the tendency (his > grandparents on his father side are both " functional " alcoholics). > > Do you still think he should attend an AA meeting? Guest guest
I agree with the use of amethyst. It has the quality of assisting that aspect of not allowing the person to get drunk. Also, giving Light to the bottle will facilitate this as well. I had given Light to my hubby on New Year's night after he drank too much (this was decades ago) and the following day he experienced no hangover at all. I also was was working with a child with autism and her mom had given Light to her medication and she would take it but when visiting her gradma with the exact type of medication she would spit it out. Also, my friend gave Light to a drink offered her .She did this with her hand under the table and also while holding the glass and she experienced NO alchoholic effects at all. The giving of Light has dramatic effects and we all can do that so easily with intent. I agree that a support group should also be in place. I want to say that I make elixirs in my drinking bottles of water . In fact, amethyst is in my bottle along with citrine, smokey quartz, peridot and rose quartz and quartz crystal and carnelian. These are all polished stones. Just an idea. But beware that many stones are also toxic. Those can be placed next to the bottle and the water, which is highly receptive , will take in the energetic gifts from the toxic stones without the toxic effects. Good luck!
Guest guest
Fabulous idea. I would Reiki the drink. Now how do you " give light " to it? On another note, my son has reduced his drinking tremendously. He hasn't got drunk during these few weeks and he told me that this past Friday he drank one glass of wine. Took him 2 hr to finish. Guest guest
I'm wondering would lemurain quartz crystals be safe to be placed into drinking water?? Absolutely, they are safe. The only time you would have a worry with putting a member of the quartz family in drinking water is if it's surface is covered with something other then quartz. Then you would have to be more cautious. Blessings to your eve all.
