I put my crystals in the moon light and WOW

Last week on the last night of the full moon, I put a few crystals in

a window that get full moon light for several hours. It might be my

imagination, but the crystals seem to have taken on a more vibrant

color. This is my first time doing this in case you couldn't tell. I

have no idea what I'm doing but read that you could charge the crystal

in the full moon. Now what. Since taking them out of the window,

they have been sitting in a drawer and I have no clue what to do next.

I did this with some of my favorite crystals, a rose quartz

(tumbled), an amethyst (tumbled), an amethyst (not tumbled) and 2

citrine (not tumbled).

Does tumbling, cutting the stones into shapes, or drilling bead holes

alter their energy?

Thank you all for sharing your knowledge.

I have read that raw crystals retain their energys  . I do not know if this is

correct or not .

I have crystals both raw and tumbled .

Tumbled crystals and raw crystals all have their purpose .Also the diffrent

shapes and sizes that they come in .

For example if you were going to perform a crystal layout on yourself or another

, round crystals would not be secure ( unless taped ) .Hense a flat shaped

crystal would be more beneficial.

I am with you on this one talking feather. I was going to ask this person

why she/he put the crystals away in a drawer?

From personal experience with some of my crystal family early on, I had them

in a small display case that had a glass door on it. They were in there for

a while ...several months perhaps (the door would get opened and closed mind

you when I would use/handle a crystal and put it back.) All of a sudden one

day, they all started screaming at me to please take the door off as they were

suffocating. So, I did and they have been happy ever since then as long as

As with everything else in life, Your Mileage May Vary.

I keep the vast marjority of my healing stones in cardboard boxes

organized by elemental energy. I only keep out the ones that I'm

currently personally working with.

They're all sparkly, clear, and have wonderful energy. I clear them

and charge them after each time I do a session and nestle them back

into their boxes. They say that they're very happy in their little

homes.

It depends on the stone, it depends on the person. If your stones are

comfortable in a drawer then there's absolutely nothing wrong with

that.

Thank you both for your response. I actually keep taking them out to look at

them.

I know it probably sounds silly to some of you, but to some members of my very

southern household, the idea that crystals have their own energies that can be

used by us is a sacrilegious and possibly blasphemous idea. It seems ridiculous

to me that as a grown women with grown children even, I feel like I have to hide

my crystals like this. I will take them out of the drawer tonight and just set

them out in some type of pretty display. It hadn't occurred to me that closing

them up might have a negative effect on them.

Thanks to both of you for bringing this to my attention. I told you I didn't

know what I was doing.

I am not from the south, but i understand where your coming from.  Instead of

going into a long explination, just tell them that they are pretty and you

collect them.  I have always collected crystals and other stones even as a small

child.  Although now as an adult when i tell folks oh get this for this purpous

they do think I am crazy.  I have lots of things I have to hide from my

fundamentalist christian family.  I leared something here too......i keep my

smaller stones in a pouch.  I have always thought they were fine.  I will be

taking time to make sure they like it there.  Although with my dusting habbits,

they might be better off staying in there pouch and not being covered in dust.

We shall see what they say.

I had the same experience.  I had mine in a 3-tiered glass curio.  I thought

they would be perfect in there.  After a couple of months they were screaming at

me to get out.  They did not like that one bit.  I only keep a few in there at a

time now and rotate on a regular basis.  They need to breathe and release the

energies within them.

They actually like being close together.  I keep most of my stones that way.

There are a couple that I separate, because together they are way too powerful.

One stays by my bed. And the other on my alter.

A while back I was shopping in a little antique/craft mall in Michigan on

Plymouth road (near my Gram's house). In a small table style display case were

2 crystals, one a quartz and one a fluorite cluster with galena. The fluorite

screamed at me, " Please save me!!! " , the quartz crystal felt lifeless. I did

rescue the fluorite and once it was home it became oh so very happy.

So, I have found that not only can being enclosed in a case cause distress

to a crystal but so can the location it is residing.

Blessings to your weekend all.

They do seem happy there, I had them out last night, and didnt feel that they

need out, permently.  It is a pretty little leather sack with a dream catcher on

the front that I bought at the rock shop.  I dont have to many yet.  I want to

start getting bigger peices.  I only have a few that wont fit in the bag.  and

they stay.
