I only got to see half of the show and from what I saw of it, it was was very interesting. If you saw the show, what were the crystals and how old were they? Formed because of pressure of being under water and 130 degree of tempurature of water allowing for accelerated growth. Very dangerous environment for explorers because of extreme heat. If Geographic has it available for rerun worth waiting for or purchasing. Too much detail to give in email and I may be inaccurate so will say little more except that yes. . . . . ..awesome, I'll love to see again! Guest guest Posted October 15, 2008 Report Share Posted October 15, 2008 Namaste', The crystals are 400,000 years old and older. They were able to get some core samples, no results back. The owner of the mine is planning on re-flooding the cave due to the crystals getting brittle and breaking. It would be so cool to go, but not in over 100 degree temps. It was a good show, but wish they had photos without people in them. Can ya imagine being down there with the researchers. Sort of reminds me of the crystal caves in a couple of my dreams. An etheral connection? Anyhow, enough for now.
