Hello everyone,

There was some interest last time I mentioned my work (Prison Chaplain)

on this list, so I thought I would share this with you - it's been a

while since both posting and the experience, but my poor computer, after

a long and eventful life, finally gave up the ghost and I am still busy

replacing all my programs on my new (to me) machine, including all my

email stuff - I'm still searching for addresses to reply to people I

knew wrote me before the 'crash'... I *will* get to you, I promise!

Anyhow, the story of Mangano Calcite in Prison.

For those that don't know, I am a Prison Chaplain in the Lower Mainland

of BC.

I visit six institutions per month and won't bore you with details, but

to stay on topic for this list, one of the things I do regularly is take

in rocks, crystals, to the fellows and 'teach' about the Stone Spirits

and energies.

One of the ways I do this is by letting them practice psychometry -

psychometry is the 'reading' of information, 'vibes', off an object, for

those that aren't familiar. Psychometry requires a person to be able to

open oneself to the input, which as you might imagine isn't always a

good thing in a prison setting, so rather than using common objects I

have them use crystals or other 'safe' objects I bring in from home.

This time it was Mangano Calcite. I purchased enough tumbled Mangano to

give one crystal to every person in each of my groups and kept them in

their own pouch until distributing them. Once in the Chapel, in a

cleared space and after a grounding exercise I handed them each a stone

and had them note the ideas, thoughts, feelings, senses that came to

them, and when everyone was done everyone shared their perceptions and

*then* I read them the entry from Judy Hall's " Bible " .

None had met Mangano before, nor had they come across any info on it, so

it was even more interesting the results they came up with;

Water - positive emotions, very soothing - eight people specifically

'got' water.

Safety

Peace

Calm

A forest glade - translated to security, peace, connection to Nature...

three people got forest or woods

A sandy beach with gentle incoming waves, the smell of salt water and warmth

Ease of breathing - a feeling of tension release specifically in the

chest. Two people, one quite prominently

And... activating Reiki. One gentleman who had recently been attuned to

Reiki and has been assiduously been self-treating daily had his Reiki

kick-started as soon as the stone touched his palm.

This exercise was done by people who are already open to 'alternative'

thinking, and want to experience Spiritual growth, of course, but still

it was interesting the insights they picked up from contact, many of

them being new to 'opening' like this.

For those unfamiliar, some of what Mangano is... Mangano Calcite is a

truly beatific stone... Calcite is a healing stone anyhow, but Mangano

is tres beautiful.

It's a stone of forgiveness... it helps us to dissolve old issues

related to trauma and move towards spiritual growth. It is very calming

and helps release past fears and grief, promoting inner strength and

finding and following positive direction in our life. It's very very

gentle in supporting and accelerating spiritual growth and well-being,

and has been called the " world teacher " , helping connect us to Nature.

With that in mind, the impressions of my Gents are quite impressive,

both of the Stone and of their willingness/ability to open enough to

'read'... I think so anyhow. ;)

If there were one Stone (only) I would want to see in a place like

prison, Mangano would have to be It.

I will be continuing this 'experiment' with other stones as well - I

think Lepidolite will be my next choice as it's one I have enough of to

share with everyone. I will post it too, if there isn't any objection.

<smile>

And, if there are any suggestions from the List of useful (and not too

expensive) Stones I would definitely be open to hearing them!

<smile>

On a final note, several of the people on this list have sent me stones

to share with these people and I would publicly like to thank them -

they know who they are, but as I don't have their express permission to

advertise their generosity I will just say, the Rock Bag is Heavy! and

*VERY* much appreciated! Seeing the people receive the stones they

*need* come out of that bag into their hands, and seeing the connection

when it happens... you cannot imagine (ok, maybe you can!) how touching,

how gratifying that is. It's brought tears to my eyes, and I can feel

them prickling me now as I write this.

Thank you - and please ask your favourite person to give you a hug for me!

<smile>
