Guest guest
That's an excellent way of putting it Candy! Don't let the disease become you! That's the same viewpoint that I take towards it. I've accepted the fact that yes, I'm bipolar, and yes it will affect me and those around me sometimes. But it doesn't need to take over my life. My doctor and I have always equated it to living with diabetes; it's a disease that you have, that will be with you for the rest of your life, but you don't need to stop living because of it! You just need to be gentle with yourself when it's affecting you alot, and enjoy yourself as much as possible when you're doing well. I've found that exercise and daily meditation help. So does eating more fruits and vegetables, and taking vitamin supplements, on top of seeing my doctor and taking my pills (which are at fairly minimum levels because of everything else I'm doing). I've avoided being hospitalized thus far, and have been able to keep myself quite level for the last year and a half, thankfully. I carry jade, rose quartz, and lapis lazuli with me daily, as well as wearing my amber and blue moonstone rings daily. The biggest thing is to have faith. Doesn't matter what you have faith in, doesn't matter what shape it takes, so long as you know that you have something to grab ahold of and pull yourself up again when you do find yourself sitting in a deep dark pit.
