Guest guest
Ok, I ordered a group of crystals off of Ebay from China. A grouping of 12 that were advertised as citrine. I really wanted clear, but these were a nice size, I had missed several other auctions, they clear were going for much more, and so I went ahead and ordered these. They, of course, don't feel right. I'm betting they're dyed. I really don't care if they're citrine or not, but now I get to try to repair them. I'll start by putting them in a bowl of water with rescue remedy. I'll report back and let you know after that, but I guess if that doesn't work, I'll bury them in salt. But maybe if you can help me think of other things to do if those don't work jayne
Guest guest
Do you have a picture or can you send a link to the auction with a picture? I've heard rumors that there are Ebayers from China selling tinted glass as crystals. There are two types of citrine commonly found for sale. Natural citrine, which is usually a light golden or yellow color, and heat-treated (or common) citrine, which is amethyist that has been heated until the purple color breaks down and turns into a bright yellow/gold color. Both are " citrine " but they have different vibrations. - Amy On Wed, Jun 25, 2008 at 7:05 AM, briarwoodpups <briarwoodpups wrote: > Ok, I ordered a group of crystals off of Ebay from China. Guest guest
Jayne, This is a great example of why I don't like Ebay. For people who are not familiar with crystals and minerals or who are new ... there are just as many ebay dealers who also don't really have any idea of what they are doing.. and frankly don't care. Ebay is hyped way too much as a way for almost everyone to create lots of extra money. I am sorry to hear about your situation... it's not your fault you got something you didn't plan on. If they are dyed.. and from China you have a good chance of something being wrong.. you are pretty much stuck with them the way they are. You can cleanse them... but you won't be able to transform them back... especially if they are ground up and re-formed. I have seen these (to me) ugly citrines from China that are a greenish color... and I don't think they are natural. Even I got suckered in Tucson a few years ago buying Green Quartz that was dyed... I so wanted it to be natural that I gave them the benefit of the doubt... but it was dyed... oh well.. we live and learn. Thanks for giving me the inspiration to vent a bit. :-) In gratitude, John At 06:05 AM 6/25/2008, you wrote: >Ok, I ordered a group of crystals off of Ebay from China. Guest guest
Hi Jayne, I am betting that the citrine you have a not dyed but are irradiated. This is very common, more often than not, with citrine. They start off as amethyst and are heat treated to alter the color. They do this very commonly to get ametrines and with blue topaz. It intensifies the color. It is not always easy to get natural citrine. I have a few amazing pieces but they are expensive as well. You could bury them in salt but also nice is salted water in the sun or moon light with that drop of rescue remedy you have. Say a loving invocation when you do about allowing them to be as they are or as they prefer to be......but all you see is their beauty. What you need to know is that over time, in the earth and with the natural radiation of the earth...amethyst will turn to citrine. The only difference is someone irradiated your citrines not in the earth..... Blessings and hugs and find the magic in the wonderful pieces you have, Dawn Silver Jewels of the Lotus Oracle briarwoodpups <briarwoodpups wrote: Ok, I ordered a group of crystals off of Ebay from China. Guest guest
Jayne, Did you muscle test to see if you were compatible with these crystals first? We don't have lots of crystal shops here, so I buy online, but muscle test first. Some look gorgeous, but they just don't test strong for me. Also, I don't clean or clear with salt anymore. I use sunlight, or moonlight, or both. I also use uncooked white or brown rice to bury the crystals in. It is cheap enough, and when they have been buried for 24 hours, I throw out the rice. Guest guest
Could it be that they're heated amethyst? That makes the browny citrine doesn't it, rather than the bright yellow and white? Guest guest
Sassi, It is a form of kineseology. You can either use your fingers (there are 2 ways that I know to do this) - one is a rubbing of the thumb and middle (fire) finger. If the answer no, the rub is very smooth. If the answer is yes, it is a sticky, dragy thing. Or then you can join your pinky (baby) finger and thumb of your non-dominant hand and in the center of this circle, join your index finger with your thumb and make another circle. If the answer is no for me than the index finger and thumb come apart. If the answer is yes for me, I couldn't break the bond between my thumb and my index finger with a hammer!! Or your could use a pendulum also for answers. There are also other methods of deviceless dowsing, like blinking, etc, but I have not had success with them. Was I clear? I could show you what I do - it is hard to explain. Try both ways that I suggested, and let me know how you make out. Ask about your supplements, you food and beverages, etc to practice. Take care. One it is a waste of a food substance when many people around the world only wish they had rice to eat. Two rice prices are increasing, so it is not as cheap as using good ole fashion dirt from one's yard. Three the reason people quit throwing rice at weddings (and have started using bird seed) was because of the harm it was found doing to birds. Birds will gorge on rice much like seeds. They are small so they can eat plenty of them. THe problem arises in the stomach once moisture combines with the rice and it begins to expand. I have heard that birds have died because of this. Personally, I would never use rice in such a fashion. Blessings to your eve all. Guest guest
Maybe you were meant to get these little ones to help them heal- I use moonlight to clear my crystals; I just set them out during the full moon. You could also bury them in Mother Earth and let her heal them. You could also hold them and sit with them for a while, and see what impressions you get. You have love and light within you to give to them, and then you may also get " magic " from them. Let us know how it goes! Cindy

Guest guest
Hi Pat, I had a go at these, as I've been to see a kineseologist practioner in the past a few times and was fascinated how my body gave her answers. I've heard of the two circles for self-muscle testing before but I can't seem to make this work reliably for me. I wonder if it's because I'm trying to contol it or something, rather being able to relax into it. I've just recently started using a pendulum and sometimes the answers are very obvious and sometimes I struggle with it a bit. But this is for me the most reliable way I've found so far. Guest guest
I got this off another group, I hope the pic comes through. Ill attach it too just in case. Here hopefully is a few tips to help you know what you are looking for when you go to buy true Citrine. The Citrine created from Amethyst will look like Amethyst in Structure... ... The points from Geodes or actual Geodes or plates. True Citrine had a totally different look and color. The really rich Citrine that is that gorgeous Dark citrine color is the The heated Amethyst. If you are looking at Spheres or Polished Pieces of Citrine it more than likely is True Citrine as the Amethyst " Teeth " are not that large.. And if they Were they would be sold in that Structure rather than cut or polished. The picture below is treated Amethyst. This is untreated citrine note the lighter colour I think you can see the differences in the way they look.. And once You know it.. You know it! Usually the heated amethyst is very dark amber. And again with a Geode I believe the citrine crystals that are druzy are very small, And the amethyst are not. Color is a big factor. That is why when I see a very deep amber Citrine I ask. If it is light colored I usually trust it to be Citrine. Some people feel that the Citrine from Amethyst has a stronger energy Than the natural citrine. If you Can get a piece of each and see for yourself the differences in Energy. Treated is not always bad. Both work well the chouse is up to you. I have both and like them equally. I hope this helps. Infinite Blessings, Light and Peace Sypress
Guest guest
Thanks, everyone, for your responses. I wanted a number of crystal points to use in experimenting with grids. The first thing I've been inspired to do is charge them with reiki, point them to the center, and then use small crystal beads in the center assigned to names with needs and let the reiki flow their way and recharge once a week or so. So I kept my eye open for crystal points of a decent size and number and this set came up. They were labelled as natural, but although I'm no expert, I don't think they are. I believe they are quartz and not glass (could be wrong), and on picking them up today they don't feel as dull as I remember when I first got them. The picture on ebay has expired, so I'm going to need to take a picture and post a link for you. At the time, I knew what muscle testing was, but didn't really know how to do it myself. Now I know a little bit more, and have used a pendulum, but the pendulum is extremely susceptible to what my opinion is. I will have to try the two methods mentioned here to see if those work for me! At any rate, I'll do what I can to make them happy and whole. Thanks for reminding me to love them as they are. Hmmmmm... that's odd. I just tried the rubbing the fingers together. Is this quartz? yes Is it citrine? yes Does it need healing? no Well... maybe I was wrong to begin with? At least a little rescue remedy, moonlight, salt and selenite won't hurt them any I'll still put up a picture and see what the rest of you think. jayne
Guest guest
Katy, Did you read Letters to Robin? You can google it, and print it for free. It is a quick instruction book for how to dowse and use the pendulum. You program your Higher Self so that you can't help decide the answers. Just a thought here. And practice, practice, practice. Start by asking yes/no questions, and when you get confident, you can as for more info and know how to interpret it. You can pendule with a chart - there are many types of charts. Best of luck to you. Guest guest
Sassi, You can use the finger techniques if you are in a store or in public, and you are energy testing for supplements, vitamins, etc. I don't mind pulling out my pendulum, but some people are just too shy. I also use the finger method to muscle test my dogs and cats. The cats like to bat at the pendulum, and the dogs would like to eat it. It defeats the purpose of asking for an answer when there is outside influence!!! Pat Hoffert West Seneca, NY On Wed, Jun 25, 2008 at 10:10 PM, sassi kass wrote: I think I get it Pat! And I got a chuckle! : ) Pat Hoffert <patricia.hoffert Thursday, June 26, 2008 5:10:09 PM Re: [CrystalHW] Citrine... not Sassi, You can use the finger techniques if you are in a store or in public, and you are energy testing for supplements, vitamins, etc. Take care. Good luck clearing, and I hope your crystals work out. Pat Hoffert West Seneca, NY On Wed, Jun 25, 2008 at 9:05 AM, briarwoodpups wrote: Ok, I ordered a group of crystals off of Ebay from China.
Guest guest
Ooo thank you for this information! I've not heard of Letters to Robin before, so will Google. Also not heard of charts for this! Many thanks - hopefully this will help me improve my skills Katy (UK) x On 26/06/2008, Pat Hoffert <patricia.hoffert wrote: > > > Katy, > > Did you read Letters to Robin? Guest guest
I bought 2 things from China when I first started my crystal collection. Both cost me an arm and a leg. One was 2 fake crystal points and the other was advertised as yellow quartz. When it came, it was yellow, all right. Very much dyed. I contacted the seller who said it was dyed but it was still quartz, which it is, so I treat it as quartz. Never again I bought anything from Asia, especially China. Not all eBay sellers are bad. Perhaps some are not as knowledgeable and buy one thing thinking it is another and then put them on sale. Guest guest
Salt is not good for crystals it will dry them out and the poor things have already been subjected to lots of man made interference, I would go with the rescue remedy and offer them some sage or other sacred insence. x On 6/25/08, K H <kheditorial2 wrote: > > Could it be that they're heated amethyst? Guest guest
I know that some people use straight salt for there crystals. it makes me cringe salt is so caustic that i have to agree that salt kills the spirit of the crystals.. a mixture of a pinch of sea salt and a gallon or rain or well water works nicely, smudging them or you can ring a bell over them. or hold them in your hand closing your hand around them blow in one end than the other and ask they be cleaned and cleared. there are lots of ways.. you can also put them in the moonlight or sunlight, or if you have kynite you can run that over them.. but true citrine doesn't need cleansing its one of the ones that dont hold negative energy..
