Hi there, what do you mean when you say " dance with the Elders or

(stones?)?

> >

I thought I'd leap in and put up my two cents. When we talk about

" dancing " it is a way of describing the interactions between us and the

stone spirits. It means that we invite these spirit elders to share

their wisdom with us in a way that we can learn from and respond to with

thanks and offerings, creating a two-way communication with them that

brings goodness to us and to them. Some of us " hear " the wisdom of the

stone spirits, some of us see visions of a teaching nature, some of us

just feel the blessings without really understanding what they are. It

becomes a dance because we are interacting like a couple who are dancing

together, moving in tandem, each following the other in a magical,

beautiful way. Some of us are used to the idea of all of life being a

dance. We dance with Spirit, we dance with Nature, we dance with

friends and family, learning to respond and to reach out in a

way that invites others to respond to us much like dance partners.

It's a way to attune to others so that goodness and beauty may come.

For me, all of life is learning to hear and feel the rhythms of the

music of the spheres and to get in tune with them and flow with them

into MORE.

I don't know if this makes sense, but it pretty much sums up my goal in

this life - to attune, to be in harmony with, and to flow with the order

of the Universe. This brings me happiness and serenity and security.

Life is a Dance, and I love it!

Much Love

This is an excellent question. It always reminds me how helpful it

would be to have a sort of " dictionary " for the new members of the

community, since we're exploring new roads here, which naturally

requires new language.

Muggsy offered a beautiful response. I'd invite others to share as

well. And I'll add a few replies of my own.

First, a brief note on the importance of language. Language holds such

a powerful place in our culture. It largely defines our perception of

things. Language is a lens, and what we see depends on what lens we're

looking through. And what we see also determines what we do, how we

act, how we show up in the world.

The idea of " dancing " with the stone spirits was given to me by the

spirits themselves. The idea is, as Muggsy shared, is a reflection of

interaction, of a give and take that two people experience when they

are dancing together. It touches upon the intimacy of spirit and

connectedness that we experience when we're dancing. And, at other

levels, it points to the indigenous traditions around the world that

honor the sacredness of dancing as a way of connecting, communicating,

transcending, healing and so much MORE!

The key idea of dancing with the stone spirits is that we're

participating and in building sacred relationship. We are working

cooperatively with the Earth Elders, moving close to them, listening

to their medicine, which can, many times, feel like a song, and

following that song wherever it leads. That's the dance that unfolds.

" Dancing " replaces the idea of " using " stone spirits. You only " use "

stones when you view them as tools, things or objects. That's where

most of the current " crystal healing " paradigm is focused, because

their ideas come from the idea of " stones as tools " .

The reality is that stones are not tools. They are spirits - Elders,

in fact. And so rather than approach them in a utilitarian way -

" using " them - we dance with them. We follow their lead, honor their

wisdom and listen to their teachings, just as we would any great Elder.

This isn't a matter of playing word games or engaging in semantics.

Language both reveals and defines our consciousness. You can get where

someone is at, where they're coming from, by listening to the words

they say. Language both defines and is defined by the road itself.

Shifting our language helps to shift our consciousness, our awareness

our relationships and our worldview.

And the road of honoring the stone spirits in their truth -

recognizing them as spirits, rather than things - requires a shift

from the old language of " using " stones. This shift gives us a greater

opportunity for nurturing and experiencing sacred relationship with

these Elders of the Earth.

This is where the idea of dancing comes into play.

> > Thank you....

You're very welcome. Thank you for asking the question. It always

presents a good opportunity to revisit what is, for me, a fundamental

issue.

To everyone else here, I'd like to open the dialog a little wider.

What does dancing with the stone spirits mean to you?

Dancing,

Fabeku
