Why does my quartz pendulum reacts to other crystals

I have a purple quartz pendulum it is dyed not amethyst for some

reason that I can't explain I held it over my clear quartz channeling

crystal today, with the points (it has a smaller crystal attached to

it) toward me my pendulum would swing in the negative direction, with

the points away it would swing in the positive direction. I found

this interesting so I tried it on other crystals and stones I have.

It would swing aimlessly over stones like moonstone and jasper but

over anything with quartz in it it would swing in either the positive

or negative direction depending on the way I held the quartz stone.

Most of my quartz have points or are oval like in shape. Is this a

magnetic type thing or is it something to do with energy flow? and if

it is energy flow then should I hold my crystals in the direction the

pendulum indicated? While I was experimenting on the clear quartz I

found that when the pendulum moved in the negative direction I felt a

little ill and started getting a trace of a headache but in the

positive I felt connected light and almost like reiki was starting to

flow. I have not noticed those feeling with the other quartz but I am

closer to my clear quartz then most others.
